Over teaspoon usage?

Hen1983 · 24/11/2017 07:43

I'm happy to be told that I'm being overly precious, but my husband had just taken a teaspoon out of the drawer, inserted the handle into his ear for a scratch and then used the spoon to remove the teabag from my tea.

That's disgusting isn't it?

Couldve been worse.
He could have stirred it with the ear wax end Grin

PanPanPanPing · 24/11/2017 07:46

Well, at least he used different ends for different tasks!

But, yes, it is a bit yuck.

GlitterRollerSkate · 24/11/2017 08:00

That sounds like something my dh would do. Rank aren't they?

kaitlinktm · 24/11/2017 08:07

My ex used to use a steak knife from the drawer to give himself a pedicure. Envy not envy

Rebeccaslicker · 24/11/2017 08:10

I have the opposite issue - if I microwave a pot of soup, I will use 5 spoons Blush it drives DP mad. I can see why but - 🤷‍♀️

Seeline · 24/11/2017 08:19

Rebecca I have plastic spoons for that sort of thing so they can stay in the bowl in the microwave Wink

Rebeccaslicker · 24/11/2017 08:27

Seeline - tell me more about this witchcraft! Does it involve - shifty look - Lakeland??

nornironlady · 24/11/2017 09:48

My OH is the teaspoon culprit in our home. He will use a new one every single time he makes a new cup of tea which can amount to almost 10 a day. He refuses to use the already washed spoons. It drives me crazy coming home to a sink full of spoons or every teaspoon in the drainer. I could scream!!!

CakesRUs · 24/11/2017 09:53

My dad used to scratch his back with the fish slice, then put it back. He was old and crusty at the time 😳 yanbu

LookAtAllTheBullshit · 24/11/2017 09:55

How big are your husband’s ear canals that he can fit a teaspoon handle in there to fish for earwax?

Ttbb · 24/11/2017 09:56

Just no.

SconNotScone · 24/11/2017 09:58

My dad used to poke the car key in his ear for a scratch. Had forgotten about that til now!

HebeMumsnet · 24/11/2017 09:59

Looking at the positives, at least he is multitasking. And you got a cup of tea. But yes. Not ideal, it must be said. They probably don't do that in the Ritz.

GreatStar · 24/11/2017 10:29

I once used a fork to poke out an ingrown toenail.
Sorry not sorry. Was a long time ago in self catering in spain and it worked.
I think i just washed it and put it back in the drawer.
I'm disgusting I know Blush

FeelingAggrieved · 24/11/2017 10:41

That is vile.

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 24/11/2017 11:53

Thats actually disgusting. I thought this thread was going to be about using a teaspoon over and over throughout the day for cuppas actually for some reason Hmm As I had a friend tell me how gross I was not changing the spoon for each cup, a few days back.

Seeline · 24/11/2017 18:06

Rebecca - certainly not! IKEA 😉
