In not knowing how to approach this

I am doing some extra cleaning jobs for a friend. Problem is, the stepson always gets in my way. He is 17 and always seems to have most afternoons off college. He will be in the kitchen when I arrive, singing loudly and preparing food. When I took a phonecall the other afternoon (I had forgotten DD's PE kit and stepson caught the gist of the call) I heard him say to himself several times in a strange voice "Not so perfect" I didn't know if it was aimed at me or if I was being paranoid but it was very weird.
I am not sure how to approach this. I can't work any other time but these as I have another job. Friend seems to think stepson craps rainbows so telling her how difficult he is making my job is not going to go down well at all. Any ideas as to how to approach this?

Why is him using the kitchen making your job difficult?

Do other tasks while Wait for him to leave the kitchen?

Because she can’t clean the kitchen?

To be honest I doubt there is much you will able to do anything about this. He is in his home. He is a teen. He is unpleasant. His mother thinks he is perfect. You cannot change any of those things. He will continue to be disrespectful and to hamper you.

I could not work with someone watching me and making passive aggressive comments.

I would just say to my friend that I could not do the work any more for other reasons.

Well, Yes, I have to be in the kitchen to clean it, That's the main bulk of the work. I was hoping I could address this sensitively to her but maybe there isn't a nice way to say what needs to be said.
