I think they'd know. Go right ahead and do it if necessary though.

Jilly12345 · 22/11/2017 23:48

Probably will to be honest.

If you have voicemail the phone won't ring but they can still leave a message so it'll sound like your phone is off. It's doesn't tell them they're blocked

PointlessUsername · 22/11/2017 23:51

I think they do as it will give a recording that the person they are trying to reach has calling restrictions.

I have a samsung and did this.
You need to block the call and texts separate.
If they send a text it goes into a separate file so you can read them if you look into the file. ( I found that a bit pointless I wish i just didn't accept the message) anyways so they dont know by texting theu are blocked but i am not sure about calling. It may go straight to voicemail but I am not 100% on that one sorry.

It doesn't tell them anything. I spent about 2 hours yesterday trying to truly block numbers on a Samsung phone and it doesn't tell you anything. The phone goes straight to voicemail. I blocked my land line number to experiment and if you have voicemail there's no way to truly block them.

This is what I did on my older Samsung with telemarketers who did not follow the rules. (ignoring the Do Not Call Register)

I set up a group called "Do Not Answer", gave it a silent ringtone, when I saw later the missed call I knew that the caller wasn't anyone I needed to call back. They hear my phone ringing and usually give up after being ignored a few times.
