to be so upset amazon messed up my refund?

I should have had £300 go back into my account today. As it is, whoever did the refund messed up and it won't go in till next week and I am overdrawn so I'll have to sort that with the bank so I don't get charged. And I have no money until Friday. (It's fine; I have everything I need.)

Just pissed off and upset.

I ordered the item (laptop) and then when Amazon messed it up had to buy one from elsewhere. I wouldn't have had "no other money" had Amazon refunded me today; I'd have had £300.

Are you sure it'll be next week? Amazon put a refund through to my account at the weekend and it there this morning. It usually only takes 2 or 3 days for me.

Amazon refund takes max of 3 days. Speak (again?) to their online chat and ask what the reasons for it taking so long are.

[OP] you must be quite upset, hope you don’t get extra charges for being overdrawn. Also as PP said Amazon refunds are quite quick so may get money back before next week.

I would complain to amazon again, their customer service department is quite good usually

Amazon customer service is currently staffed by complete fuckwits. If you don't start off complaining then you end up complaining just about the chat service.

I think it will come through earlier than they've said OP, they will be quoting maximum times. I'd still carry on the complain as you should get some compensation to pay your bank fees. Speak to the bank too, they may be kinder.

I agree with you and hate it when the money is taken within minutes, but only paid back within days. I am sure someone makes much money from that. I hope that you get your refund back quickly.

Usually I do not call them when I have issues, but chat to them. They are really helpful, plus I then have everything in writing.

I would get back to amazon and complain about their services. Push for a date sooner than that.

Oh and YANBU it’s a crap customer service.

I need a laptop for work and would be very stressed if this happened to me as I only get paid for work I do and I couldn't do it without a working laptop!

Yeah it might not be so bad.

Amazon owed me a refund and said 'up to a week' but it actually went through quite quickly.

If you can prove that you had bank charges owing to their error, they might give you some vouchers or credit as an apology which could help with Xmas shopping?

Thanks! I was just moaning really. Unfortunately I really do NEED a laptop for work and if the refund had been processed properly in the first place I wouldn't have gone overdrawn.
