In the hour or so before I went to work we had:

  • nappy came off (or got pulled off Hmm) in bed and she got poo on her hand (to be fair I would cry at that, and in fact nearly did, at 3am)
  • she asked for a banana - and was given a banana
  • I wouldn't let her play with the purple and green "brish brushes" (aka our toothbrushes)
  • DP wouldn't let her put her bear in the bin
  • DP's trainers were too big for her just 2 year old feet
  • I laughed when she looked up at me and said, "oh god [her name]"

The terrible 2's are so much fun! Anyone else?

Because I won't let her help build the bunk bed, or let her hit her sister over the head with a bit of wood!

Whohasnickedmyvodka · 20/11/2017 17:20

Because i wouldn't let her climb on the dining room table or stick the fingers in the plug sockets or throw toys at the tv

Spudlet · 20/11/2017 17:21

Daddy left for work. Sad

He wanted to get out of the pushchair, so I got him out. Then he wanted to get back in, so I put him back in. It’s been fun Confused

Worst one recently though was last night, when FaceTime with grandma and grandpa ended. He was sobbing and poking the screen to try and get them back. Nearly broke my heart Sad (though he was soothed by some beans on toast).

Ladymadness · 20/11/2017 17:21

I wouldn't let her punch me in the face or poke me in the eye 😂

Cornettoninja · 20/11/2017 18:22

I put my cardigan on and daddy tried to help her with her cereal instead of me..... she's not back from the childminders yet so I've had an easy day at work Grin

Yesterday we had our first words argument

Dd: cake?
Me: no you can have a banana
Dd: cake!
Me: no. Look here's a banana
Dd: (in a you've got one more chance tone) cake
Me: mmmm banana
Dd: aaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhh

Rebeccaslicker · 20/11/2017 18:35

Haha the cake thing rings so true! DD has only had cake once I think (not a stealth boast as she is allowed some crap in small amounts, I just don't like cake myself so we hardly ever have it!) - has remembered it and asked for it daily ever since 🙈

I didn't have Paw Patrol on the tv ready for her to watch the second she got home from nursery Hmm

She wanted her shoes off then didn't want her shoes off.

I wouldn't let her throw her spaghetti bolognese onto the rug.

shakeyourcaboose · 20/11/2017 18:46

Because i wouldn't let them ram the door with their head at speed......

Trafficjammadness · 20/11/2017 18:47

I wouldn't let him help me cook ( he wanted to stick his hand in the pan of boiling rice)

I made him say goodbye to granny when we left her house, he stropped about that for the 30 minute drive home.

Lauperr · 20/11/2017 18:50

Because I wouldn’t let her take a bite out of every biscuit in the biscuit tin then put it back. One biscuit was the compromise on no biscuits in the first place! She’s not even 2 yet. I’m apprehensive about the future Hmm

MessyBun247 · 20/11/2017 18:55

I gave her a banana, which she asked for.

I wouldn't let her hit the dog.

I wouldn't let her draw over the walls.

I wouldn't let her put her hand in the deep fat fryer.

And this was all in the past hour! She won't be 2 until January Confused

CynophobicSadness · 20/11/2017 18:58

Because the bubbles in his bath don't smell as nice as yesterday's

It's the exact same bath product I use every single bath he has

It caused a huge tantrum, with actual tears and a face so red with anger I thought he'd burst into flames.

He's genuinely angry with me and has sat on his bed facing the wall while whimpering like a wounded animal since getting out of the bath.
He's also cried because I he thought his sandwich was trying to escape from his plate (he was knocking it off the plate himself!)

Rockandrollwithit · 20/11/2017 19:00

I threw his dirty tissue in the bin even though it was 'special' 🙄😂

Furryfury2 · 20/11/2017 19:03

Because she harangued me to tell her what my favourite nursery rhyme was. And when I told her it was Baa Baa Blacksheep she cried because that was her favourite nursery rhyme and I can’t have the same as her.

So I said a different one - old mother goose - but she cries again because that is also her favourite.

CottonEyeJosephine · 20/11/2017 19:04

Because he doesn’t like polar bears. Bedtime delaying tactic but with no reference point - we’ve not got any polar bear toys or books, no conversation about them has taken place etc....

IFuckingHateFireworks · 20/11/2017 19:05

Because I wouldn’t let him shove his fingers down his throat Confused

IndianaMoleWoman · 20/11/2017 19:09

Because there might be a duck under the sofa so she can’t sit on it (she has inexplicably developed a fear of ducks just this afternoon).

Coconutspongexo · 20/11/2017 19:10

My toddler cried today because he said he was crying I said he wasn’t crying so he started to cry.

He also cried because he likes bing but not pando.

Spudlet · 20/11/2017 19:12

I have another. Because he poured milk all over himself on purpose, so I told him (calmly - he’s very little) that he would have to wait for more until I’d cleared up. So he ran over to the dog and hit him. So I told him off on my cross voice. So he had a screaming jag and banged his head on the baby gate (quite gently - he’s not stupid). Gah.

Like I said. It’s been fun. [Reaches for wine, pours one for the angelic, tolerant old dog too]

DonkeySkin · 20/11/2017 19:22

Because I insisted on brushing her teeth (it's an ongoing battle).

Because I had the little light on but not the big light on for story time.

Because story time was over.

Because Bunny kept 'hopping' out of the cot.

Because I wouldn't sing 'Over the Rainbow' for the forth time in a row.

Because happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow way up high and she wants to too.

All in all, it was an emotional bedtime routine last night.

Eminybob · 20/11/2017 19:31

Because there was too much milk in his cup (even though there was only a thimble full practically)

Because he wanted to drink said milk with a straw and I said no (because I’m not wasting a straw on a thimbleful of milk!)

Because he didn’t want to wash his bum at bed time

Because he didn’t want to call daddy in to read him his story, he wanted me to call him Confused

To be fair these were only little cry’s and at the end of the day as he was tired.
He has been at nursery all day so I would have had a much longer list if he had been with me all day I’m sure!

Littlecaf · 20/11/2017 19:48

Because I said Daddy was at work and not st the gym

Because I said he couldn’t hit his little brother over the head with a torch (he was swinging it)

Because he would go down the foam stairs at soft play although he’d done it 20 Times since we’d been there.

moonmaker · 20/11/2017 19:49

Because I didn’t let him pour water on the couch
Because I stopped him running onto the road
Because he wants to go to bed but doesn’t want to go to bed
Because he wanted all the toy giraffes in Aldi
But couldn’t have them

EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 20/11/2017 19:51

DD used to say "cake" when she meant "food". CakeBlush

TinyLittleFeet · 20/11/2017 19:52

Because she's a big girl now at 2.5 so I took the bed guard off her bed, her bed looks pretty apparently and she cried

Because the cat was eating from the cat bowl Confused

Because she picked up my mobile and Nanny (my DM) wasn't there to talk to her she then cried when I said Nanny's at work
