I have had a vary varied career. I have been a SAHM for 13 years and none of my previous experience is going to work for my family situation. (It all involves a lot of travel and my husband's job also requires him to travel without much notice.) We have three kids 13, 11 & 11 - and the more I observe my kids' friends developing having rather complicated life issues, the more I realise that while I want (and need) to work and contribute to our finances, I want to have a career that allows me to work around our children as I think they need me just as much as ever.
I am 45 years old and contemplating studying to become a nurse.

Am I too old?

Definitely not. Go for it.

RJnomore1 · 19/11/2017 00:14

Nope it I'd debate how much you Cameron it around what you want especially while training

RJnomore1 · 19/11/2017 00:18

Sorry how much you can work it around!

RJnomore1 · 19/11/2017 00:18

But the nope meant you're not too old by far

Newmanwannabe · 19/11/2017 00:19

You're never too old; but it depends what sort of nursing and how many hours you want to get into as I don't think the hours are that family friendly, and rostering is not always flexible either.

I'm thinking of agency stuff or even working in a botox clinic or something. I wouldn't be bringing the emotions home with me that way!
