How would you handle this situation? Friend not showing up,

Arranged for friend to come over to mine last night. Called her when I finished work and she said she was going to the gym and would be at mine for 6:30.

At 7:15, I text her and then call her and hear nothing back.

Eventually at around 9 I just sent a text saying at least let me know that you're ok.

Still nothing.

Now she's just put a post on Facebook saying she's on her way to work.

Clearly nothing bad happened to her ..,

I'm genuinely shocked and hurt that someone I thought was one of my best friends would do that to me.

That's so strange. Did she have the wrong night? And then lost her phone? I can't imagine just not turning up like that then ignoring someone. How close are you usually?

Occasionally texts dont arrive so she might have sent one later that evening. I would talk to her and say what happened the other night? I was really looking forward to seeing you! And see what she says. Does she have form for this?

I'd wait out an explanation. She sounds like soneone trying to create a drama having you trying to get hold of her.

If she hadn't said she'd see you at yours for 1830 I'd put it down to brain fog. Could she have lost her phone and not have a landline so after the panic couldn't get in touch? seems odd she didn't PM you.

Ask her straight out. There may be a viable reason but otherwise it's just plain rude.

I don't see why you would need advice for this. You say she is a close friend, surely the obvious thing to do it call them and ask them why they didn't show up last night.

Well it’s rude not to let you know she’s had a change of plans but surely it’s not difficult to deal with.

Call her up and say “what happened last night? I was wondering where you were”

There could be all sorts of good explanations.

If the explanation is rubbish then tell your friend you are angry and hurt and see if the apologise.

If they don’t, then you decide whether they are a friend worth having.
