To want chips

Albertschair · 17/11/2017 19:06

I'm full of cold. Have been wrangling a grumpy, teething, potty training 2 year old all day.

I can either drive 20 minutes to the nearest town - so a 40 minute round trip.

Or I can cook something healthy. I have fish in the freezer and veggies in the fridge. But no potatoes or potato based products to make fake chips with.

I really really want chips (and cheese and gravy). But cannot be arsed to go out.

I sometimes really miss city living

I assume you can’t get it delivered?

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 17/11/2017 19:08

Yanbu!

Is there no one that does delivery? Or a friendly neighbour on their back from town about now? I feel your pain Gin

IHaveBrilloHair · 17/11/2017 19:09

Delivery

VladmirsPoutine · 17/11/2017 19:11

If you can't get it delivered then make the trip. 40mins isn't a-typical of a normal commute anyway. If you have a craving that strong you will find a way.

Albertschair · 17/11/2017 19:12

No ubereats or deliveroo round these parts. We don't get uber full stop.

I can get an Indian delivered. But I don't want that. I want soggy bendy chips with thick stand your chips upright in it gravy.

The thing is that it is my commute.... But it is the end of my week of annual leave and I'm objecting to doing my commute for chips.

One of the village pubs wanted to open a take away chippie. But parish council objected worried about litter

Could you buy one or two portions of chips from a village pub?

bumbleymummy · 17/11/2017 19:27

Does your Indian not sell chips? Ours does!

Albertschair · 17/11/2017 19:29

Sadly bumbley it sells fries.

These are not chips

No Hungry House or Just Eat services available?
Oh dear.
My DH is on his way home with chips as I type.

I texted dp a hopeful 'bring home chips?' But dp was already driving and very sensibly didn't read it until home.
