Wed night 2 yo sick. Yesterday a bit unwell. Today fine. Her 3yo party is tomorrow (sat) pm.

In mean time 6yo has been sick today.

Assuming that he is feeling better tomorrow do I go ahead with the party as planned. Or do I need to make him stay home/watch only as he still wouldn't be allowed into for another 24hours or slightly more. They are both really excited.

I'd say the 6yo needs to stay home for the party. They will still be within the 48 hours and would likely pass the bug on to others. It's not fair to pass on a sick bug to others for the sake of a party.

When you say the 3 year old was unwell yesterday do you mean diarrhoea? If so they should be 48 hours since last symptom before you throw them into a party. So depends when the last bout was in relation to the time of the party.

6 year old can't go to the party as they were sick today.

So the general consensus is to apply the school 48hour rule to home social events too? I think the 3yo is in the clear. It's the 6yo I was thinking of. I think it is too close :(. Poor him.
