To ask to move rooms?

DH and I currently on our honeymoon. Long haul destination, expensive resort billed as being wonderfully relaxing. A once in a lifetime trip for us, really. Now on day 7, up until day 5 it was perfect. Day 6 saw new guests arrive on either side of us. The new guests seemingly cannot communicate in anything other than shouts, are up noisily getting drunk on the balcony from sunrise til the small hours, are constantly banging and stamping about it having the music blasting. Worst of all, the guests on either side of us befriended each other on the plane so are constantly shouting to each other over our balcony.
Both rooms were occupied before, so although the walls could maybe be thicker it definitely is that they are noisy and inconsiderate. I want to ask to move, DH thinks that if the hotel try just asking them to be quiet first it will create a horrible atmosphere.

I just want to be able to enjoy my balcony in relative peace and quiet. AIBU?

I should add that there are areas of the complex that are extremely fun and loud and lively, which are great. No one else is making that level of noise in the rooms though.

No you are not.
Get down to reception and tell them exactly what you have said here.
Ask for another room.

DramaAlpaca · 17/11/2017 12:07

Definitely ask to move rooms. I wouldn't want to put up with that either.

I would have already moved. I would be asking but politely telling.

Your dh’s point doesn’t make sense.

I've changed rooms for less! It's no skin off their nose which room you're in. Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon!
