To ask how long they can delay giving us the money

My DGF passed away earlier this year and in place of my DF who passed away just before him, I am a beneficiary in the will. I’m not an executor though but the executors are my DF’s 3 siblings and are also beneficiaries. Probate has been granted a number of months ago. It’s not a complicated estate really though he was in a care Home just before he died. How long can they delay for?
There’s also the problem that there are rumours that they have taken a sum of money out of his estate to stop my DF’s wife getting some shares held in a life trust that he left to her in his will.
Not an AIBU really but I don’t know where else to post

I'm not the most knowledgeable on this one OP but I'm pretty sure once probate is granted the executors can start executing the estate straightaway.
They will already have to have assessed/ estimated it for the probate application so in theory it's ready to go as soon as the deed is granted.
Are you in a relationship with them where you can ask?
And is there any chance it could be delayed due to the complications to do with your father/ you being the beneficiary?
Sorry that's not much help, but at least it's bumped the thread!

Thanks. After doing another relatives estate I thought it would be good to go too but since my DF’sdeath they have sort of excluded us a bit.
I don’t really want to ask them as they are the sort to gloat that I ‘need the money’. My Dsis has asked a ddoesmt get a response
