To be clueless about party invites!

DS is having a birthday party towards the end of the Christmas school holidays (uk)

I'm thinking of sending the invites December 1st ? Is that too soon?

My worry is people not being able to make it, therefore inviting others (can only have 8), so still need to be in term time.

And as such, what should I set as the RRP date? Holidays start December 21st.

I feel daft for not knowing!

We're having a party at the start of Dec, I sent the invites on 1st Nov with "reply by 17th" as the balance has to be paid on the 24th so this gave me a week to invite others if need be (had minimum numbers). I am still waiting for 3 replies out of 15.

I would send the invites on Dec 1 and ask for reply by 16th.

Thank you! That's helpful. I didn't know if I would sound needy asking for replies 2 weeks before the day!

Ask for mobile numbers as then you can text that parents the day/morning before the party to remind them.....people will usually let you know if they have changed their minds about coming (daughters birthday is during the summer holidays so arranging parties was always a pain in the proverbials)
