Some poor little creature skinned alive to make them maybe and perhaps tortured before death to soften the fur.

Desmondo2016 · 13/11/2017 10:06

Ha I'm going to help you along by telling you you definitely do!!!!

doodle01 · 13/11/2017 10:07

Damm Faux Fur just buy them.

WhatwouldAryado · 13/11/2017 10:08

I just took delivery of my lovely lined winter boots (not DM's). I am now planning my week to show them off Grin

ASDismynormality · 13/11/2017 10:09

They are faux fur and look lovely and cozy!

InThisTogether · 13/11/2017 10:10

I got married in these... that's how much you need them.
Do it!

Razzlefrazzle · 13/11/2017 10:12

Sorry but you do! Hadn’t seen these before but just googled and I love them. They will last years and years so the price per wear will be almost nothing. Go for it Grin

DJBaggySmalls · 13/11/2017 10:13

What do they do, shout Mint Sauce at the sheep before slaughter?
Torturing doesn't soften fur. The hide and wool is processed and dyed during tanning which would undo the effects anyway.
They dont skin animals alive anywhere outside of PETA animal torture pornography videos. Its actually more trouble than stunning them, and dangerous to the person doing the slaughtering.

You like the boots but you dont need them. You need the money more than the lovely, lovely warm winter boots. they;re only £150 and who needs chilblains?
I'm not very good at this.

silkpyjamasallday · 13/11/2017 10:44

Had a good giggle at the idea of shouting Mint sauce at sheep @DJBaggySmalls. As DJ said, animals are not skinned alive, the methods of slaughter for mink in particular is far more humane than the deaths cows, pigs sheep and chickens face when slaughtered for human consumption. Inform yourself @doodle01 before you spout absolute nonsense. How exactly would torture soften the fur?!

But they are faux fur anyway! Go for it OP, I bet they will be super cosy. Christmas present to yourself. Sorted, perfect excuse at this time of year. And obviously you may need to break them in before December so they are perfect on Christmas Day for a stroll.

doodle01 · 13/11/2017 11:27

OMG its a joke question and answer she not asking for legal advice. God

doodle01 · 13/11/2017 11:29

Although I expect adrenaline the reason why animals are tortured to soften the meat could impact on the skin which is linked to the fur but as its made of plastic in any case as I POSTED is irrelevant.

doodle01 · 13/11/2017 11:31

the idea of 'shouting Mint sauce at sheep' - that's equally ridiculous and mint and sheep off topic surely.

doodle01 · 13/11/2017 11:33

Ok the cosiness will make your feet smell get Uggs no sheep were slaughter in the making and let your feet breathe also good for putting on when you have wet sandy feet

SloeSloeQuickQuickGin · 13/11/2017 11:37

doodle01 I'll bite - how do you soften fur by torture. Meat or skin can be softened, but fur? Other than a rinse in Timotei of course.

justilou1 · 13/11/2017 11:45

They look gorgeous! Black or brown?

jennielou75 · 13/11/2017 11:59

Blimey that went a bit southside!!! Brown I think and they will sit nicely next to my other 5 pairs of Doc Ms!! I was looking at Aqua lamb ones by Celtic Co but these look better for the money!

jennielou75 · 13/11/2017 12:01

Um and uggs have a bad rep for animal cruelty if you are interested in that sort of thing!

Weedsnseeds1 · 13/11/2017 12:04

Animals aren't for tortured to soften the meat. You get tough meat from stressed animals so they are kept as calm as possible. The carcass is electrically stimulated post slaughter to improve tenderness.
If you like the boots and can afford them, then buy them.

doodle01 · 13/11/2017 12:47

Seems animal welfare groups working in China at dog fairs don't agree with you - paws on the ground don't ask me but quite a few locals think it does.

doodle01 · 13/11/2017 12:49

This is supposed to be a fun post keep it so why would anyone ask a stranger reasons not to buy boots - I guess why would anyone reply ill take a walk

Ttbb · 13/11/2017 12:51

DMs are a bit over though aren't they?

jennielou75 · 13/11/2017 13:06

Possibly but the kids in my class love my unicorn sparkly ones and I have had to promise my satchel to a colleague in my will!!!
I just find them comfortable and long lasting.
