My last day in this job is Sunday. I worked yesterday, am off today and tomorrow.

And I'm ill. Virus and fever and shaking and feeling sick, loss of appetite (not like me!)

My new job is much easier and I can have a quiet day Monday but there'd no way I can ring in sick on Sunday, is there?

It's only Friday. You could be feeling lots better by Monday morning

Ecureuil · 10/11/2017 16:45

If you’re ill you’re ill, of course you can phone in sick if you’re too ill to work.
You might be feeling a lot better by then though.

Travis1 · 10/11/2017 16:46

If you're ill you're ill but a bit early to be thinking of calling in sick on Sunday

winterstail · 10/11/2017 16:47

I'm in on Sunday redglitter, as my last day.

It will look like I don't give a dam and am just leaving them in the lyrics have as it's my last day.

Op is talking about working Sunday in old job I think? But you could be ok Sunday. Is it the kind of job you could go in to show willing but leave if you're too poorly?

pinkdonkey · 10/11/2017 16:47

If you are ill, you are ill. Personally I wouldn't want you in passing the bug around. Mind you one of my ex collegues called in sick a lot. Then phoned me at home to say she was ill and wouldn't be in her whole last week. I reminded her I was on holiday and so that would mean no one was in all week. She didn't get her leaving present, but not much else we could do about it!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 10/11/2017 16:48

I’m ill today, off sick and everything. I’m very much hoping I’ll be well again by Sunday. Maybe not 100% but reasonably well.

AlternativeTentacle · 10/11/2017 16:48

Well, what is the worst that can happen if you do? They can't sack you!

winterstail · 10/11/2017 17:07

I know but I have been there 3 and a half years and I don't want to leave on a bad note.

OP posts:
Ecureuil · 10/11/2017 17:07

Maybe make a decision when you know how you feel on Sunday.

saltandvinegarcrisps1 · 10/11/2017 17:11

LOL at "leaving them in the lyrics" and leaving "On a bad note" ! Are u a musician Grin.

MrsAJ27 · 10/11/2017 18:48

Wait and see how you feel on Sunday. If your too ill call in sick if not go in as usual.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

BertrandRussell · 10/11/2017 18:50

Why on earth do you think you'll still be ill on Sunday? It's only Friday!

SingingSeuss · 10/11/2017 18:53

If you're well enough to in, you can always go home sick. If you're too I'll stay off, or you may be too I'll for first day in new job ( even worse!)

winterstail · 10/11/2017 18:55

Well, it's Friday evening now and I'm in at 6 Sunday morning. It's only really to our own I've got to feel better in. Of course I might recover I suppose.

I can't really go home sick, I'd need to ring in at some point tomorrow but like I say I think I'll just have to suck this one up.

OP posts:
winterstail · 10/11/2017 18:56

Tomorrow not to our own.

OP posts:
19lottie82 · 10/11/2017 18:58

If you’re too ill to go in then you’re too ill to go in. If you are well enough to go in then you’re well enough to go in.

winterstail · 10/11/2017 18:59

The point is they wouldn't believe I was ill. So I would leave on bad terms which isn't what I want.

MrSnrubYesThatsIt · 10/11/2017 19:03

You''ll have to go in, so.

HeebieJeebies456 · 10/11/2017 19:04

go in.....then lay it on thick so they send you home Grin

deepestdarkestperu · 10/11/2017 19:15

It's Friday! See how you feel on Sunday morning.

rightsofwomen · 10/11/2017 19:18

Why would they doubt you were ill?
Do people often feign illness?
Have you got a reputation?

My colleagues would know that I'd want to be in work on my last day to say goodbye and collect my present
