Napping outside

The baby loves napping in his pram in his snuggle suit. The double garden doors are next to the kitchen/diner/office where someone will always be.

AIBU to think it would be Ok for him to nap in the pram just outside the garden doors? They are clear patio doors and no access to garden.

Thanks 😊

Don’t want to be silly, but can anyone tell me why it’s good for babies? (I don’t do it with mine, wondering if I should!)

SlackerMum1 · 10/11/2017 14:44

There is some research suggesting babies that are more exposed to natural light, especially in the afternoon, are quicker to develop their circadian rhythms and differentiate day/night so they sleep better all round.

Thanks Slacker Smile

Also vitamin D - that was one of the reasons it was advised in the past. It was common practice when I was growing up. As pp said, the big prams, like the royal family use, kept the baby very warm and comfortable. Baby could lie full length. You'd have a mattress underneath and blankets on top.

My eldest used to sleep outside for all his naps (other than when it was raining).

If it works then go for it.

I did mean no other access to the garden thanks 😊

When my first was born, and when dd2 came along (they were close enough together to nap at the same time for a few glorious months!) if they fell asleep in the pram I would turn straight back home and text DH (working from home) when I was at the corner so he could have the front and back doors open so I could swoosh them straight through the house and out in to the back garden for their sleep!

daisy You have forgotten about the zombies though.

Oops yeah that would certainly be a quick dash to the back door 😂 they’d have tough work getting through the brick wall and fence though x
