Sorry but have to post about this as I'm so pi**ed of on my parents behalf it's not even funny!

After having a lot of problems over the past few years with various things including squatters my parents have moved into a lovely new home and and are trying to enjoy it. My dad has recently become extremely ill, I'm very pregnant and at uni so my mum worries about me and my poor parents have to live with a 13 year old teen!!! Could it get worse I hear you asking lol!

Well my parents thought they'd make the garden nice for summer and get stuff done etc. Got a patio put down, potted up lots of flowers and palms etc, the norm. They also ordered a very expensive shed and some even more expensive garden furniture. They were really looking forward to getting them and getting the garden all sorted for summer.

The shed got delivered - late (3/4 days). Then we found that they had given us the wrong size floor for it, and it was in 2 bits! Took 3 days to get in contact with somebody regarding it. They've now been waiting over 2 weeks for the correct base to arrive - which it still hasn't! They only need to transport the shed base across town ffs, it's not coming from freakin America!

Then the furniture. Got delivered - late (5 days). When it was delivered it was in 5 bits, as opposed to all being packaged together, like it should have been. Every single box was damaged. The wood table had been badly scratched and dented. The parasol was the wrong size - 3 metres instead of 2.5 m. 2 of the 6 chairs have scratches on them. Rang the company to complain. Was told that if we wanted it replaced with a new set, WE would have to PAY to send it back to them, and then they would send us out a new set! My parents payed nearly £400 for this furniture (company has the money for it), it arrived badly damaged, and were told that they would have to not only arrange to send it back, but farkin pay for it too! Am I the only one that thinks this is fu**in mental? Surely if it arrives damaged it's up to the company to come and pick up it's damaged goods and replace it with non-damaged ones.

What the hell happened to good customer service? The woman on the phone about the furniture started yelling at my mum about it all - wtf? The worlds gone bloody mad and my poor parents are getting screwed left, right and centre and there doesn't seem to be anything they can do about it!

Absolutely disgraceful!! What happened to 'the customer is always right'??? I would contact your local trading standards office tbh - take photos of the furniture etc.. too.

I just feel awful for them, I know that they are my parents but they truly are the nicest, easy going people around. And yet people keep screwing them. Their not doormats or anything, but I just can't understand why 2 such nice, fair people are getting treated so badly - by everyone! The minute they complain about something that's been badly damaged that they have PAID for, they get abused by the people they're complaining too. And told they have to pay for someone else's mistake - on top of what they've already paid out.

Is it too much to expect to pay for something and get what you paid for anymore - perfect condition and no damage. The thing is my parents, though they would still have been annoyed about it all, if these people had turned around and said 'sorry, our mistake we'll come and collect it and bring you your new one' would have been fine with it and forgotten the mistake was ever made!

I'm just so and for them!

Aww i know where you're coming from hun and tbh its probably because they such nice people that this company think they can get away with it! Maybe they should ring the company back and threaten them with going to Trading Standards or even ask for a full refund and go somewhere else where the customer service is significantly better! It's awful when things like this happen - but dont let this company get away with it.... xx
