To think this is a stupid system?

I missed a call today which is whatever it happens but when I went to call them back I got an automated message of "you have been called by your local council or school"

Aibu to think this is the most unhelpful thing ever?? I've applied for a few jobs with the council and my dc are also under various professionals who work out of schools! I rang the council to be told the only person who knows who rung you is the person who rung so unless they ring back I'll have no way of knowing

Very unhelpful. Hopefully they will ring back. I always think if it was super important they would leave a message.

That sort of makes sense though. If the person ringing out has to make a lot of phone calls ( which odds on some will not be answered ) they couldn’t be expected to be available when they all rang back. They want to speak to you when it’s convenient for them which obviously doesn’t help you.
