I have a hospital appointment, morning sickness and a 3yo and the bus seems impossible today.

I didn’t ask to be educated about Uber. I asked if I could still get one.

There is an app for London registered cabs called gett which is excellent- well worth using instead of uber. They know where they are going without Google maps!!

Addison Lee also let you pay by credit card OP, just in case you have problems with uber.

Mini cabs are crap, whilst they might know where they're going off by heart they don't show up on time it's just around the corner love

I'm a housing benefit assessor - uber are the only drivers accounts that make probable sense (time plus fuel versus fares) so I doubt any of them are declaring their earnings properly.

OP, yes uber works. I use it regularly as I live in London.

Don’t bother with mini cab companies if you can help it as 1. They don’t allow you to track the cars or give you the drivers details and 2. They are well known for ripping people off with unorthodox routes.

Nothing wrong with Uber’s tax accounting which doesn’t also apply to every other large company or taxi driver in the country. Ignore the self righteous people here...

FWIW, 3 of our local taxi firms have all shut in the last 18mo. So there aren’t actually many alternatives to Uber at the moment in my part of London - although I assume that will change if they lose.

Yes, I got one this morning...whilst waiting for it my Amaxon parcel arrived and I picked up starbucks when I got out so youre nowhere near as awful as me

Uber are great, they are still in London as we used them three times in London on Friday.
