To take 7 month old to fireworks display

Just that really. He will have ear defenders, but fireworks start at 19.30, past the time he normally sleeps and even though he's been out past this time before, he's been able to sleep in his buggy, which will be unlikely in this noisy situation!

He’ll be fine took my 15mo to a display last night at his bedtime, he loved it. Saw lots of younger babies there. Probably won’t need ear defenders btw, it’s not loud enough to damage hearing.

Do it! Ds has been going to fireworks since literally just turned 1 and has always loved them. He will be fine with a one off late bedtime and don't underestimate a small tired child's ability to sleep through loud noise......! Enjoy

My youngest came last year at 8 months, I put him in the sling, no ear defenders and he slept through it all.

There were loads of crying babies/toddlers at the display I went to yesterday.

They can't hurt anyway - as a kid I was really easily startled by loud noises even if they weren't loud enough to be dangerous.

Oh yes, I will still use them as I have them.

We took our 7 month old yesterday with ear defenders and he didn’t seem to notice they were happening!

I'm taking my 6 mo old and using my other child's east defenders (asd) more because the loud noise can be startling for a baby

I'm sure he'll be fine but whether you'd actually have the chance to enjoy it is another matter!!

I took my 9 month old, no ear defenders, & she loved it!
They did wake her but she enjoyed snuggling up & watching the prettiness! You know you're child & if they will handle the disruption.
We had a great family evening!

I took my 3 month old. He fell asleep with his chin resting on my shoulder, gazing at the bonfire while I cuddled him, with the fireworks going off behind him and not twitching. Wasn't bothered by them at all.

Do use the ear defenders. Both of my DSs hated loud noises, and used their ear defenders until they were about 6 years old at firework displays.

The firework display near here was by a professional company and even the distance we are away they were deafening.

Ear defenders can't hurt.

We took our 6 month old yesterday. A few bangers went off, no reaction, so far so good. Then they let off some of those pretty, crackly ones - terrified, anguished screams Time for Mummy and baby to beat a hasty retreat!

I planned on taking my 5 month old to our local display tomorrow with DD1s old ear defenders just in case she startles but was still worried. However, I forgot that our neighbours over the road do thier own display every year so tonight when I heard them go off, I took DD2 onto the drive to watch them with a view to whisk her inside if need be. But she loved them and watched open mouthed and cuddled into my neck. It was lovely.

I'm not so worried anymore!

We took out 3 month old to a display tonight, the ear defenders were absolutely necessary because the music was so loud. The fireworks on the other hand weren't an issue.

We had a good time was definitely not a problem. Did need the ear defenders though but as soon as she had them on she was happy!
