When is a party not a party?!

Ok so on my way out this afternoon next door (young married couple) told me they were having a few people round tonight and warned us of the noise.

We went out this evening, got in and sat up watching a film, and have gone to bed, but shows no signs of slowing down.

We live in a terraced house and we can hear in in every room, upstairs and downstairs. So its just coming upto 2.30am (technically 1.30 as clocks go back at 2)...in light of the fact they prewarned us of partygoingsons what time do you think we can expect things to quieten down?

They are not to know but I've been unwell most of the week, so looking forward to getting some sleep! definitely won't be getting an extra hour tonight!

Do you have any ear plugs you can stick in?

It's not a regular occurrence, no, tried earplugs but no joy... wasn't considering complaining, just wondering when I might expect a bit of quiet you can tell we are not party people, we're boring!

God who knows........ it depends how hardcore they are! It could be days!

We tend to average a house party at ours every 5yrs. The last one went on until 6am ish (although we did turn everything down much lower after midnight), and erm... the one before that was 3 days before the last guests left We are otherwise very quiet neighbours and prewarned our NDNs with a few weeks notice, so didn't feel too bad about it all (plus brought them flowers after the 3 dayer).
As mentioned above, it depends how hardcore they are! No harm in popping round and requesting the volume to be lowered a bit if you can't sleep.
