Mom's Calendar - ugh

katmarie · 28/10/2017 14:52

AIBU to want a family organiser calendar that doesn’t say ‘Mum’s Calendar’ on it? My DP does as much of the household organising as I do, why does it have to be my calendar?

All I want is a nice calendar that has a month to view and spaces to put appointments for me, him, baby and the dogs, which isn’t covered in patriarchal nonsense. Is that too much to ask?!?!

(See also ‘Mum’s Diary’. Where’s Dad’s diary? Grrrrr)

Wellandtrulyoutnumbered · 28/10/2017 14:56

Thank you. Second link looks fab

Fekko · 28/10/2017 14:57

I always get a family one. I'm the only one that bothers to write on it or check it though!

HollyandBrambles · 28/10/2017 14:58

Yes very annoying, ‘busy mum’ ‘Mums calendar’ ‘Mums school year diary’ Angry

Somersetter · 28/10/2017 14:58

Oh I was about to recommend the Gruffalo one!

katmarie · 28/10/2017 15:03

@wasonthelist thanks those links are fab!!! Glad it’s not just me!

Dunelm do loads called family calendars really cheap but nice!

PurranormalCativity · 28/10/2017 15:04

I thought EXACTLY this as I went past Calendar Club. Even the Family Organisers have feminine colours / artwork on.

liquidrevolution · 28/10/2017 15:15

We buy the RNLI family organiser calendar each year. Not mumsy at all.

Seadragonusgiganticusmaximus · 28/10/2017 15:33

@wasonthelist

Best of all they come with a three year guarantee. Smile

OvertheSargassoSea · 28/10/2017 15:34

Dodo pads do some fab calenders pricey but are very good quality xSmile

Olddear · 28/10/2017 15:35

Lakeland family calendar....its brilliant!!

JacquesHammer · 28/10/2017 15:36

Aldi do them yearly. I've had them for the last couple of years.

PoppyPopcorn · 28/10/2017 15:38

I got one last week in a National Trust shop - 20% off too. 5 columns, lots of space, and it's a Family Organiser.

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 28/10/2017 15:46

There are lots of family calendars, I've seen loads at loads of different shops. Some people like the mums/feminine calendars if you don't then don't buy them. Do find a lot of people up in arms lately about anything being 'girly' some people like that stuff

Dontknowwherethelineis · 28/10/2017 16:04

Not technically the point of your post but in the same vein I had a Christmas where various members of OH's family bought me : a family organiser, a slow cooker, some kitchen glasses and a fancy tea towel. Meanwhile OH got presents specific to him as opposed to presents that would enable him to better carry out his role as 'caregiver'. I found it really insulting!

gillybeanz · 28/10/2017 16:10

I have one every year that either says mum dad and the kids
or Him/her and the kids.

I've seen mum calendars but they were just for one person with single entry spaces.

Fekko · 28/10/2017 16:30

I usually buy one after new year in m&s when they drop the prices! This year's one has recipes on it.

thegoodnameshadgone · 28/10/2017 16:33

You can get a personalised family calendar from notnon the high street and its the family name and then they add the names per column as you specify

justtheonethen · 28/10/2017 16:35

Busy B calendars are brilliant, both couples and family ones.

Zapdos · 28/10/2017 16:37

These are ace, each month has a pocket to stick all the bits of paper from school/party invites/hospital appointment letters/car MOT reminders etc in. No mention of Mums.
