to expect someone on ebay to send me tickets i have paid for...

juicychops · 13/04/2007 09:59

i bought wwe tickets on ebay from a genuine seller who specialises in ticket trading. the show isn't until october but all tickets are sold out and being sold for rediculous prices on ebay.

however, the start price for these tickets was £50 i expected them to go up but they didn't and i won them for £55 for a pair of ring side tickets.

all other ring side tickets were being sold at £110+ each!

i sent him an email last sunday when i won them saying due to easter hols i cant pay until tues. he replies saying thats fine and as soon as ive paid he'll send the tickets.
only just got a reply from him last night saying he made a mistake and was meant to start the sale at £150 as he bought the tickets for £120 so he doesn't know if he wants to loose £50. and he also mentioned that his friend died last week so he's upset about it! (have no idea what relevance that has!)

anyway i have now replied saying he has entered into a contract and must honour that contract. also cut and paste some of the ebay rules into the message too.

this has really pissed me off!!

surelly im not being unreasonable? Its his mistake not mine

Your email sounds fine. Let us know what happens!I like the way he uses "the rules" almost as a threat

FlossALump · 15/04/2007 09:30

That a twunt. The loosing 400 quid thingy? Well what was he doing sending a ticket out without it being paid for? Another 'error'? Have you heard anymore back from him yet?

Imawurzel · 15/04/2007 09:45

I just said to DH that he had the time the tickets were listed to change the price.
As long as no-one has bid on them you can change it i believe.
Dumbass. (him not you)

juicychops · 15/04/2007 14:52

hi i recieved another email from this tosser last night........

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SEND THIS GARBAGE TWICE EVERYTIME...YOU ARE JUST LOOKING FOR SOME CHEAP TICKETS & MINE COST TWICE THAT..I MAID A MISTAKE IN THE LISTING & DIDN'T NOTICE IT..BY THE TIME I DID..YOU ALREADY DID YOUR THING & NO I DIDN'T ACCEPT YOUR PAYPAL MONEY...IT'S NOT IN MY ACCOUNT...I DIDN'T NOT ACCEPT IT...I HAVE TO ACCEPT THE MONEY FOR IT TO BE IN MY ACCOUNT...SO,,I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY THAT...SO,,I RELISTED THE TICKETS AT THE PROPER PRICE ...IF YOU WANT THEM PURCHASE THEM..I AM NOT ACCEPTING THE OTHER HALF PRICE MONEY...SO,,IF YOU LEAVE ME A NEGATIVE..I WILL LEAVE YOU ONE...LIKE I SAID BEFORE ..I HAVE PEOPLE BUY MY TICKETS & NEVER PAY...SO,,I HOPE THIS MAKES YOU HAPPY...GO BUY CHEAP TICKETS ..IF THATS WHAT YOU WANT..BUT,,YOU AREN'T GETTING MINE FOR HALF PRICE..I JUST SOLD THE OTHER PAIR NEXT TO THESE FOR 150 POUNDS...THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE WORTH...SORRY...DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO...BUT,,I WILL NOT ANSWER ANYMORE OF YOUR EMAILS...

so i guess im not getting the tickets now

gotta wait at least 10 days from when the auction to put in a formal complaint to ebay so that is what i will do. and also make a complaint about these emails he has sent me as they are not exactly polite

just won some tickets from another seller but also for less than their face value so hopefully i wont have the same agro. Im just definately not paying over £150 for a pair of tickets

juicychops, did you get your money back then? I think he's being a bit of an ass really. Sorry you didn't get your tickets, but I would definitely complain to ebay, and I wouldn't wait ten days to report the abusive emails either. Do it today! He shouldn't be able to get away with treating customers like that.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 15/04/2007 15:01

You do not need to wait 10 days to report him.

Is the money you originally sent back in your paypal account?.

I would also look at Ebay's Community forums as they can often be helpful.

mytwopenceworth · 15/04/2007 15:03

who is he? what's his ebay name? i for one would like to avoid him!

LazyLine · 15/04/2007 15:09

Whether he made a mistake or not is irrelevant TBH. He started an AUCTION listing at £50 and they only went for a fiver above that. If they were really worth more than that, they would have gone for more than that.
A mistake would have been a buy it now at a wrong price.

Plus, he could have amended the details or removed the item from sale, saying he didn't have it any more. He didn't have to let it get this far.

However, it seems to me like you are not going to get your tickets but you WILL get a negative feedback. I would start your Paypal dispute so you can at least get your money back. Then I would make a complaint as he will obviously relist the tickets.

juicychops · 15/04/2007 15:18

I paid the money but it remained unclaimed at his end for days. But it still came out of my bank account. He has now refused to accept it and it now looks like it has been refunded on my paypal account but the actual money still hasn't been refunded into my bank account. I know transfers to and from paypal can take a good few days so hopefully it will turn up in a few days otherwise i will have a dispute with them too!

the dick head in question is an american seller called stairwaytooheaven

STEER CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
juicychops · 15/04/2007 15:24

and you definately have to wait at least 10 days to report an item not sent. Just tried doing it despite the 10 days but told me not enough time has passed

OP posts:
Scotia · 15/04/2007 15:26

That's a relief if it has been refunded into your paypal account. At least you haven't lost that.

What's your ebay feedback like? Do you have enough that a neg wouldn't bring it down too much (I mean if you are a new member one neg will be a higher percentage than someone with thousands)? If you do, I think I'd risk getting a neg off him, although I imagine ebay will remove it if he says anything untrue. I wouldn't be agressive in what I wrote on his feedback, something like 'refused to complete auction - wasn't happy with end value'.

Over to you though, I'm not very good at this kind of thing.

I'm really angry for you.

Scotia · 15/04/2007 15:27

I know you say you can't report an item not sent, but can you complain about his emails?

Katy44 · 15/04/2007 16:52

Definitely don't leave feedback until this has been resolved. If he thinks the tickets were "worth" a certain amount he should have put a reserve on surely - from a buyer's pov ebay is for getting bargains, from a seller's it's to get as good a price as possible for the goods. If the bidding had pushed the price up to £500 and you had won could you have come back and said "they weren't worth that much so I'm refusing to pay"? No - cos you had already agreed. Surely that's what he's done by listing them - agreed to sell them at that price or higher?

juicychops · 15/04/2007 16:55

Yeah i can complain about the emails too. There is a little box next to messages you recieve saying is this message appropriate for ebay? or something like that with an option to report it. So of course, i will

i have about 250 feedback all except 1 is possitive so im sure one more wouldn't tarnish my name too much

OP posts:
Katy44 · 15/04/2007 16:55

From the FAQs
"What starting price should I set?
This is obviously up to you, but experience has shown that items with lower starting prices tend to attract more bids. This is because buyers find the auction more attractive as they are tempted by the possibility of a bargain. £0.99 is a common starting price, even for higher priced items, and what you will usually find is that the market sets a fair price. However, in order to avoid disappointment you obviously need to be sure that you are willing to part with the item if it does not reach your desired price and if it is of very high value, you could consider setting a reserve."

Katy44 · 15/04/2007 16:55

Idiot!! Oh this has really got me mad

FlossALump · 15/04/2007 18:17

I very nearly contacted him. But then thought better of it as don't want to get banned. Am really on your behalf, JC - please do take this up with ebay and get this arse sorted!

juicychops · 15/04/2007 19:45

Yeah i definately will.

im glad other people are angry too as i now know im not just making a big deal over something that some might find trivial

i would love to see this arse's ebay account closed!!

ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER!!!

just got sent this message by someone who noticed i have bought something from this second seller...

hi there , just a word of warning to you about the person you just bought the wwe tickets from.
this guy has been selling a number of item on ebay ,including 2 me but always asks payment to made by postal order , then when he gets the money then he just plain deny,s ever recieving the money and does not send item out,
i have bought a sony psp from him on 23rd of march & i sent the money a few days later , he told me that the postal orders had been crossed so he had to bank them, & now he says that he didnt recieve them.
i have contacted ebay about this guy.
just to add i have also contaced a few buyers about items he has sold & all say the same thing .
if you dont believe me i have all the emails from him & buyers to confirm this.
before you send the money just contact him and ask if you can collect the tickets, then make your own conclusion from the answer you get.
i just dont want anyone to loose there money to this guy,
its your money but make a choice before you send it.

Going to email him now and ask to collect to see what he replies

OP posts:
Katy44 · 15/04/2007 19:58

Oh no! This is a different person? It's not your day!

SoupDragon · 15/04/2007 20:01

Would this not be apparent from his feedback? Does it say postal order only in the listing description?

juicychops · 15/04/2007 20:02

Yep, different person. ive emailed him saying i have family who live very close to him and can they collect and pay cash as they are visiting in 6 weeks and can bring them down to me. Let me know asap if this is ok otherwise i will send the postal order in the morning but not before i hear a response, also with a final total

of course i wont send a postal order now, but it will be interesting to see what he replies.
cant believe people do this to others it is daylight robbery to the extreme!!

OP posts:
juicychops · 15/04/2007 20:04

Yeah it says postal order in the listing but many people only accept postal order. In my opinion its the easiest.
He only has 8 feedback all positive but has changed his id 3 times over the last 4 years so maybe that is a bit dodgy.

i just want some f**king tickets!!!!!

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 15/04/2007 20:39

Feedback stays with you when you change your userId though. Not if you reregister, obviously, but if you just change your name it does. Why are there no negatives from the ripped off buyers? How odd.
