Bit fed up of my job as is DH and fantasising about jacking it all in, but we are just about managing and don't have a big pot of money to fall back on. If you were brave enough what would you do instead for an income?

I did it 30 years ago. I had a large mortgaged place and well paid job in London. I moved to the countryside 100 miles away to a run down cottage. I was young and keen (single early thirties). The jobs market was different then, so I found other work, didn't care what, as long as I was earning. It was very hard at times, but I have never regretted it. I met my long term partner, we have moved again and I can't imagine living anywhere else now. I just love being in a rural area. I always hated the pressurised London life.
Do it, but it will be hard at times, and generally there is no going back. You only live once, follow your dreams.
