Why are so many posters putting kisses (xxx) and lol after their posts?

Aibu or do lots of people hate it?

Are there? I've probably seen one in the last month? Maybe I've just skipped over them. To be honest, I couldn't give a shit. While I don't use them myself, they are no more twee or annoying than DH, DD etc. I just read through and ignore those bits. Not really a hard task.
