Reasonable worry over 6yo DS day trip?

My DS has been invited by his best friend's GM to go with her and his friend by bus to a nearby city to visit a very child-friendly attraction. He's 6 and has never been on a day trip like this with someone who's not our family or school.

I know the GM well and she is very nice, although couldn't chase after him if the need arises! (Although he's not really like that with people who are not me) Both me and my DH feel a little nervous about it, but DS is looking forward to it – are we right to be worried or being over-protective?

What are you nervous about?
1 adult to 2 well behaved children sounds fine. The only thing I would potentially be worried about would be a very long day making him tired and moany.

Normal to feel a little worried, yes. But it sounds fun and I’m sure he’ll have a great time!

I do have a feeling deep down I'm being a bit PFB

If he’s okay about it then yes you probably need to let go a little.
