Calling toddlers cry-babies

My parents had my two (22m and 3y) today. 22m got upset because they wouldn't let her do something (fine) so they called her a cry-baby. I wasn't there but know because when they got back my 3 yo had a tantrum (over nothing much - she was overtired) and they said 'oh lets do what we did when 22 mo cried earlier' and started laughing saying to my 3yo 'don't be a cry-baby'.

They weren't laughing nastily, more like an attempt to make her laugh, but I'm really not sure either toddler would understand that at the best of times, let alone when overemotional.

AIBU to think it's out of order? I'm not sure whether to say something or not. I was a bit gobsmacked but am I overreacting?

Gobsmacked? Well it's a bit old school and not ideal but not something I'd give more than two seconds' thought to, tbh.

It’s not something I would get too upset about to be honest.
If my child had been called that and it upset her then I would say something but if she didn’t seem bothered by it then I wouldn’t be either.

I wouldn't like it. Name calling is not ok, nor is belittling children for getting upset.

I would ask them not to say that.
