Who is being unreasonable? All over a rat cage......

We bought a brand new cage from a website but the base corner had snapped off (that was the only issue) but they gave a full refund and managed to get a new base for £60 (the cage would have been £150)... DH accidentally snapped a clip when putting it together so now we need a new part of that, we can't get it anywhere, even the supplier where we got the base from doesn't keep spare clips, only the full clip/connector set (if that makes sense) so comes to £40 for that as it includes the platforms, it comes in a bag. So we get a brand new cage and some spares for £100 instead of £150, I think that's a great deal? DH thinks we shouldn't get the spares (have to wait 3 weeks to get them) and just buy a new cage for £150 and sell the other bits we have (no point giving to animal shelter as they need the broken bits). He says if we get £50 for the bits we have (everything but the base and clip) we'd still get it for £100.

WIBU?????

He is.

You've got to go through the faff of selling if you do it his way. Not worth the hassle

Presumably you need the cage, so waiting 3 weeks is not great?

EverydayValue50 · 18/10/2017 13:48

Not great, no, but we would tape the broken base bit for those 3 weeks and then just not use the parts that need the clips.

Or you could go on a fb selling group or a rodent forum and ask if anyone has an old cage they'd be willing to give you a clip from.
