I'm size 20. I can't find any work wear in Yours or Evans. Next had a couple of jackets in an 18 but they pull.

Is this my punishment or do fat people just not wear suits?

SimplyBe do some good stuff! I've used them for smart workwear in the past.

Asos do loads of smart dresses you could team with a blazer and tights.

And being fat is nothing to be punished for! You can still look good - and even be healthy - at a larger size. You still deserve nice clothes and professional opportunities.

There are no words to express how bad I look in dresses.

I don't work for them, I promise. They're the only place I found stylish plus size clothes. I hate Evans, everything seems so old fashioned and frumpy.

Yy, jacket and trouser combinations don't need to be matched as strictly as they would if you were a man.
I'd also second Asos - next day delivery, keeps everything in the right place and look actually very very stylish I don't work for them.

Simply be and m&s have loads of options in a size 20. Don't be daft about 'punishment'. M&s especially should have something super professional looking that will fit and look smart.

It isn't compulsory to do up jackets

Life gets a lot, lot easier at size 18. Won't happen quickly but personally the difference is really striking.

Rainbow - I’m obese and can run 5k and am working towards 10K, obese people can do a lot more than walk for 20 minutes!

Anyway depending on your budget, try a Hobbs 18, they come up big. Also agree with trying Next online and Boden online. Might worth just searching on somewhere like the John Lewis website on your size and seeing what comes up. Order a load to try in at home, and return what doesn’t fit.

Rainbow... I'm obese, a size 20. I've got chronic illness - physical disability and autoimmune disease entirely unconnected with my fatness. I walk miles weekly, do yoga as often as my hypermobility allows and swim when I can. My bloodwork and other numbers are all good. My skinny, smoker boss has high BP, high sugar levels and gets puffed out walking anywhere. Size is not a good indication of health.
