To avoid applying for seasonal jobs?

I am trying to get a permanent part time job. Some seasonal opportunities have popped up but I am not sure if it’s worth applying as they pretty much all end at Christmas or just after so it would only be a few weeks work. Our financial situation is about to improve anyway as we’re downsizing & paying off our mortgage. I obviously want to contribute to the household but unsure how to play it........

I would apply for seasonal jobs for the following reasons:

1 - they do sometimes get made permanent
2 - It'a all experience and something to add to your CV
3 - Its easier to get a job when you have already got one (don;t ask me why!)

I'd apply if I needed a job. Many companies will keep on the best temps so imo it's worth applying and worth doing a good job.

Basically everything MickeyLuv said!

Lots of seasonal jobs are made permanent after Christmas, and it gives you a foot in the door with the company too - they may call you back once a permanent position opens up.

The more experience you have (and recent experience at that) means you’ll find it much easier to get a permanent job in the long run.

Foot in the door, experience, up to date references - yes.
