For a few months now I've heard a noise in the walls /floorboards.
I can only describe it as if a bee/wasp whatever was in.
It's driving me mad,it goes from the side of the bed,to the wall opposite then sometimes I hear it downstairs.
Boyfriend says I can't hear it,even when I say be quiet and listen.
He would say that if a herd of elephants were living there..
I wish I could attach a video with the noise.

Airlock in your pipes?

Draft getting in and making the floorboards hum?

AlternativeTentacle · 09/10/2017 23:00

Upload it on you tube and you can.

Gingernaut · 09/10/2017 23:00

Check the pipes.

Slightly less irritating than the scary water hammer, that buzzing noise might be vibrations caused by a cold water tank refilling and setting up vibrations through the pipe network.

Scrowy · 09/10/2017 23:01

Or tinnitus?

Louisaric233 · 09/10/2017 23:01

Would it move from walls to floors that fast?

Louisaric233 · 09/10/2017 23:02

I've recorded the noise on my snapchat and friend can also hear it

ijustwannadance · 09/10/2017 23:04

Do you have things plugged in by bed? I have very sensitive hearing and can hear electrical equipment buzzing.

Louisaric233 · 09/10/2017 23:04

Nope nothing.
It moves from different walls,I've even heard it downstairs too in living room.

Wasp's nest in the walls?

Mooncuplanding · 09/10/2017 23:08

There is never just the one Shock

Avonandice · 09/10/2017 23:08

Basilisk is more of a hiss than a buzz

Spartak · 09/10/2017 23:08

I get tinnitus intermittently. It sounds like a wasp in one ear but appears to change direction from where it's coming from. Could it be that?

Louisaric233 · 09/10/2017 23:09

boyfriend thinks I'm mad,I can deffo hear it tho and the noise moves.
Can't exactly open up the walls Grin

OP posts:
Slimthistime · 09/10/2017 23:09

yanbu but is that really your question or are you more worried what the noise is?

I can hear electrical frequencies, is that a possibility?

also once I had an ongoing noise that I couldn't trace ...it got louder and louder....eventually got loud enough for me to identify and it was the fridge motor packing up slowly.

Louisaric233 · 09/10/2017 23:10

I could be open to that but my friend heard it on the video recording and thought it was a wasp.

PinkMoony · 09/10/2017 23:11

There is NEVER just one mouse

Goodasgoldilox · 09/10/2017 23:38

Pinkmoony knows her mice!

They are very sociable creatures.

Jux · 09/10/2017 23:40

It is a cat purring. Many yearsago cats were routinely placed in the walls of a house for good uck. You have a ghostly cat living in your walls, but it likes you and that's why it'spurring.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 09/10/2017 23:42

Nice.

Or rats.

ReanimatedSGB · 09/10/2017 23:42

Well, if you have recorded it and other people can hear it, it's not tinnitus. Either your BF's hearing is simply less good than yours or he is being a knob.
It might be worth contacting a pest control company and playing the recording to them.fffffffffffffffffffffffffff

badbadhusky · 09/10/2017 23:43

Naughty jux!

leamington1999 · 09/10/2017 23:43

I would keep recording it, you can’t argue with a video
