Not really an aibu.... sorry ... but
Can anyone please tell me if it’s a waste of time and irrelevant to give personal reasons for a secondary application??
My other dc have left the catchment school and had a really rough time there.
Does only the admissions criteria count anyway??
Thanks

No they don't take any notice of it. Only if you put something about a disability or sibling that you missed off elsewhere on the form.

I don't know what it's like everywhere but here you can only appeal on the grounds of anything you have included in the form. So if you don't get your chosen school and go to appeal they won't take anything into account if it wasn't written on the original form.

Fitton If you are in England I don't think that's legal.

OP, from what I read I agree with Rainbow it is to help check you are in the right category. So .g. if you write 'it is the only flat school and my DD is in a wheelchair' then they might bump you from out of catchment to medical need or whatever.
