Last night the bottom half of my front tooth (from bottom set of teeth) fell out last night, no idea why and only from the back (front is still whole).

Do dentists do emergency appointments?

My aibu: aibu that I'm so terrified of the dentist I'm not sure I can have any treatment?

You should try to find a dentist who offered sedation .
Dentists usually do emergency apps, are you registered with a practice?

You poor thing. That happened to me - I’d cracked a tooth years ago and eventually it just gave up and crumbled away! The work you need done will depend on how extensive the damage is, but mine was completely painless to fix.

The dentist will give you an emergency appointment to sort it temporarily if necessary, but you’ll have to book in to actually get it fixed after the dentist has discussed your options with you.

If you’re not registered with a dentist already, you can find one who specialises in nervous patients - there’s lots of them out there.

Good luck!

I'm registered with an NHS dentist. I like the idea of sedation but would that have to be private?

Are you sure it wasn’t a bit of calculus that fell off? It can feel like it’s a bit of your bottom tooth that has broken.

Racoonworld · 06/10/2017 07:09

Thanks peachgreen that's reassuring.
afuna I'm pretty sure it's tooth. There quite a big hole and I can feel the gum at the bottom where the bit of tooth should be Sad

Ahh, just thought I’d mention it as the calculus thing happened to me once and I ended up very very embarrassed at an emergency appointment Blush

Update, I called the dentist when they opened first thing. They have no appointments at all until next Wednesday. Im really worried it'l cause damage to leave it that long, and don't know if I'm supposed to eat and drink?

I had half a back tooth for years because I kept putting if going. I'm sure you'll be fine to eat as long as you're not in pain. Keep it clean too
