Option 1 or Option 2?

AIBU to ask which option you would choose out of Option 1 or Option 2?

Can give more detail if needed.

Option 1:

A couple of hours of work every day at £30 per hour, which I enjoy (in afternoon and/or evenings). Also have started Citizens Advice training for two full days every week.

Possibility of being given temporary work until end of this year with Company X, and then of being offered a stable job in their office with good pay and prospects at end of year (will hear back from company X about this by end of this week or start of next week). Would have free weekends and evenings.

Option 2:

Work full-time from agreed location with Agency Z boss (no other colleagues) for Agency Z during day (and would have to work on Saturday mornings and on some evenings too).

Would have one-year contract that is reviewed every three months. With this option, I would have to work exclusively for Agency Z and would not be able to fit in working for Citizens Advice or to fit in freelance work.

Fluffyunicorns · 04/10/2017 19:36

Ivy79 · 04/10/2017 19:36

Allthewaves · 04/10/2017 19:36

Ttbb · 04/10/2017 19:37

1

BlueThesaurusRex · 04/10/2017 19:37

On the info provided, definitely option 1

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 04/10/2017 19:38

Ivy, you can't have Option A, has to be 1 or 2. Computer says no! Grin. I would go for 1 also.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 04/10/2017 19:38

Option 1.

Brittbugs80 · 04/10/2017 19:39

Option 1.

Unless there's a huge pay difference and you need money.

Ivy79 · 04/10/2017 19:39

@Spongebob I spotted it as soon as I had put it grrrrrr. Grin

Kailoer · 04/10/2017 19:41

er well we wouldn't be able to eat or have a roof with option1 , so for me there's no choice.

if you can live on option 1 then ofc it's better. it's so obvious!

TroelsLovesSquinkies · 04/10/2017 19:43

Option 1

RangeTesKopeks · 04/10/2017 19:44

Thanks everyone for your replies so far! :)

Allthewaves the job in Option 2 would have the same salary as the potential job in Option 1, although there's a possibility with the Option 1 job of getting bonuses too.

If I say Option 1 how do you feel? because from what you've said, I would go for option 1 too.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 04/10/2017 19:50

er well we wouldn't be able to eat or have a roof with option1 , so for me there's no choice.

£60 a day is an eight hour minimum wage job, so not uncommon at all. Five days a week that's £300 a week which is £1200 a month, and £14,400 a year.

People can and do live on that. Not sure why you're implying you couldn't unless you're insistent on luxuries.

(Even better for OP as she'd only be doing 2 hours as opposed to the normal 8.)

strawberrypenguin · 04/10/2017 19:51

On the information you’ve given I’d go option 1

woods4thetrees · 04/10/2017 19:53

Option 1 for me for sure.

ComingUpTrumps · 04/10/2017 20:07

Option 1.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 04/10/2017 20:14

Option 1. Assuming you can keep the bills paid, for me, time is more important than money.

RangeTesKopeks · 04/10/2017 21:18

Thanks so much again everyone who's posted - I'll go with Option 1 :)
