To ask why MNters can be so bitchy?

Brainsfordays · 03/10/2017 23:08

Just about every post I read rude unnecessary comments.

OP posts:
BriechonCheese · 03/10/2017 23:09

You may ask.

PurpleDaisies · 03/10/2017 23:09

Maybe you'd be better off on another board?

Yes, some posters are bitchy but the majority aren't, especially if you don't bother with AIBU.

ilovesooty · 03/10/2017 23:09

Report or challenge them then.

That's life really isn't it.

Apart from on NM.

...and DIY on a budget

PoorYorick · 03/10/2017 23:12

I used to spend a lot of time on some male dominated boards and believe me they were worse than bitchy. They wouldn't even keep it to the forum, if they took umbrage with someone they delighted in trying to cause real life havoc.

Really, it's better here.

Brainsfordays · 03/10/2017 23:12

I can't reason why people reply to posts about life matters to make others feel shit or stupid?

OP posts:
DonkeyOaty · 03/10/2017 23:13

Harrumph. We're not ALL rude and unnecessary.

holdthewine · 03/10/2017 23:14

Brains It has been particularly bad recently, I agree, anonymity gives the twisted the cover to be cruel. They are very much the minority though. Sad to see some people going through hell being hounded off the threads they started though.

elQuintoConyo · 03/10/2017 23:15

Challenge it!

For sugar and fluffiness go to 'the other place'.

DonkeyOaty · 03/10/2017 23:18

Way back when all was fields we used to say MN was love and knuckles.

SleightOfMind · 03/10/2017 23:19

It's like real life without the filters. That's what a small percentage of people are really thinking.

There's loons everywhere, it's just more obvious when they get to be anonymous.

I also think you sound massively entitled. You should sort out your own MH issues, actually parent your child instead of pissing about on the internet and your house is tasteless and unhygienic.

teaandtoast · 03/10/2017 23:19

Please define bitchy. I've never understood it.

RunningOutOfCharge · 03/10/2017 23:20

Which thread op?

Go read the one in Aibu called ‘to ask for advice’

RosemaryHoight · 03/10/2017 23:21

I think it's too many people using AIBU this week. There are loads of topics. Like site stuff. Have a look around the proper topics and get some brilliant advice and support.

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/10/2017 23:22

OPs that use misogynist language turn me into a right arsehole [please note sex-neutral insult]

AtSea1979 · 03/10/2017 23:24

OP you seem to have missed the brilliant advice and genuine people. For every negative there's at least 10 positive.

Insomnibrat · 03/10/2017 23:25

Pombear, anyone?

squoosh · 03/10/2017 23:27

Some people are spoiling for a fight, like a rottweiler who's been left alone for a few days without any grub. They're bored with licking their genitals and they want to stick their fangs into some easy meat.

Here endeth the analogy.

Brainsfordays · 03/10/2017 23:31

I usually hang out in active not AIBU.

Also bitchy comments from MNters. I never intended it towards one sex. Could be either

OP posts:
Battlescar · 03/10/2017 23:35

I think this all the time. There seems to be a lot bitchiness, putting others down, scarcasm, passive aggressiveness, my opinion is the only valid opinion, and just unhelpful comments with seemingly the only aim to put the op or pp posters down Confused
Kindness, support, warmth, empathy, compassion all seem to a rarity. It makes me sad.

ColinTheDachshund · 03/10/2017 23:35

'Bitchy' is an inherently gendered term, whether you deliberately meant it so or not.
This thread seems a bit rude to MNers in general, TBH, and not exactly necessary.

DavetheCat2001 · 03/10/2017 23:38

ODFOD

Brainsfordays · 03/10/2017 23:41

I really didn't intend it to be rude or offending to anyone either I genuinely wonder why threads are actively seemed, read and all of the above, sarcastic, passive aggressive comments are posted. Another thing some MNters do is once the OP stops replying a few will comment "come back OP" "where did the OP go?"

OP posts:
FastWindow · 03/10/2017 23:43

Am I an MNter now? It's all changed since it was all fields round ere.

Scarfs a bit tatty, but it'll be right after dousing in some good old viper sauce.
