Playbarn etiquette

First time posting. I may be AIBU: let me know what you think.
Today at a playbarn, my clumsy DS aged 2 walked through the toddler area to come to me at the side. A pair of new parents had just put their 6 week old baby down for some tummy time (it was in the toddler area which was full of large soft shapes and lots of children) they were with the baby. My toddler stepped on the baby who understandably became upset. He perhaps stepped on the foot or leg, didn't see clearly. Unfortunate, really.
However, their reaction surprised me. They were aghast that my toddler would step on their baby; I told him to be careful and took him out straight away but he wouldn't have even seen the baby as he was looking at me.
If you put a baby down in a crowded and busy playbarn, surely you accept that accidents may occur?

Sounds like one of those things to me. Not a big deal.

They were silly for putting a 6 week old baby on the floor.

Who does that in a soft play full of toddlers? 🤔

Zeelove · 30/09/2017 22:00

They couldn't have cared that much if they put their baby down in a soft play centre. 6 weeks!? Honestly

Oh ffs just give your baby tummy time at home 😂😂
Their fault completely

KindergartenKop · 30/09/2017 22:03

Pfb. Them, not you.

FittonTower · 30/09/2017 22:04

Put your baby on the floor in a toddler area and a toddler will step on it. That said I expect they're new parents, have heard all about soft play and all it's wonders so decided to give it a try, got it wrong then over reacted slightly when they realised the mistake. I'm sure they feel a bit daft now but we've all made silly errors when we had teeny babies. I left mine in a shop once.....

Loki1983 · 30/09/2017 22:04

Thanks Smile don't know if they realise that toddlers are big walking babies themselves

Really no benefit to the baby at a play barn. Toddlers are clumsy, that's just to be expected.

NoCryLilSoftSoft · 30/09/2017 22:06

They're idiots. For starters what on earth does a 6 week old get out of being at a soft play place? Secondly, those places are grim. Who takes a 6 week old without any jabs and then lays them on the floor! And lastly, toddlers are clumsy. They're like little drunk people. What did they think would happen??

MrsMKJ · 30/09/2017 23:11

They put their 6week old baby down in the germ fest soft play, presumably before vaccinations?! Your toddler did the baby a favour getting it off the floor!! High five to your 2year old! 😬

They're lucky baby wasn't full body squashed!
Yanbu. They need to find a baby class and stay away from soft play with rampaging toddlers.
