To be really cross with Argos?

I ordered two items yesterday, both totalling to about £230.

I arranged same day delivery. Items were due that evening between 7pm and 10pm.

By 10pm, they still hadn't arrived so I put in my order number on the tracking part of the Argos website.

Order status = Delivered.

When I look some more, it says the delivery address - Not our address but same street, just a different number.

They delivered to No. 15 instead of No. 50!

I went round this morning and No. 15 on our street have no idea, they haven't got it, they say.

I ring customer services just now and got put through to the fast track team. He's taken my number and will be looking into it for me, but he said "not sure what I can actually do though as these are very expensive items" Hmm

This is my second home delivery disaster within the year! The last was my bloody wedding dress - Which I eventually got hold of after a lot of hassle. But we were in a different house so I can't ping it on lying neighbours anymore.

AIBU to want Argos to be less blasé? DS is due soon and that order contained his car seat.

Meow I don't know - They did not say. They're looking into it and claim they'll call me back within the hour

Surely it's their problem not yours. They can't just deliver it to a random address.

Disn3yN3rd · 29/09/2017 14:57

Yes they may be expensive items but youbhavent signed for them and you haven't received them due to the driver delivering to number 15! Still Argos' responsibility.

99blueballoons · 29/09/2017 15:05

They are useless- they delivered my new bed but not the mattress this week only telling me when the drivers turned up and apologised for not having the mattress. They're now saying they can't arrange a redelivery for another 3 weeks even though this was their mistake. If I were you I would consider seeing if they will refund you and ordering from somewhere else OP.

BlueButTrue · 29/09/2017 15:11

Thanks all, I'm really disappointed.

99blue That's shocking that they didn't even bother to say before delivering. Can they refund you and you go elsewhere?

I've just been phoned back by Argos and they're delivering one of the items again but not the car seat as it's out of stock.

I'm going to have to be refunded but he said it'll have to go through claims and disputes in the finance team before they issue a refund, as it's expensive and apparently not just doable with 'a click', so to say.

Hopefully they will refund you soon without too much hassle. The last thing you need is extra stress when heavily pregnant. We got our maxi cosi car seat quite cheap from Amazon this spring and I think they delivered quickly as well.

I've emailed to ask for a refund if they can't arrange a sooner delivery. It's a bit awkward because the divan and mattress were a set price together so they have basically managed to deliver half an item to me. . .

BackInTheRoom · 29/09/2017 15:57

So they can't refund you even though they delivered it to another address? Just what you want! It's not 1st world problems but it's unnecessary stress isn't it! 😩

Ttbb · 29/09/2017 16:02

Did you put down the wrong address or did they get it wrong?

BlueButTrue · 29/09/2017 23:44

They put down the wrong address, not me! 😭

Bibb bloody typical, I know.

99blue How arse over backwards can you get - Delivering half of one item Blush

I had an order coming with UK mail and twice they said attempted delivery and twice we were in and nothing came. Dp even went down to the carpark to wait and they never appeared.

Best part? We can see the UK mail depot from our living room so no excuse
