To not give my address out

I was owed a refund by a private seller. It’s been over a week now and they said it would take 2hrs - 7days for the bank transfer to go through. Never heard of anything like that before. Today after lots of prodding they say the transaction was cancelled by their bank. They want their parents to send me a cheque. I’m very uncomfortable giving out my address, they seem dodgy people. AIBU

I dont think you're being unreasonable, and it sounds like they dont have the money.

How did you pay for the item?

I paid cash. Really don’t want to go back there.

Can someone you know go and collect the cash from them?

Or have them do it via PayPal.
