To tell roommate to get her own stuff

Hello all,
Not sure if i am being unreasonable in this but my new housemate keeps using all of my untensils! This in itself is not a huge issue but i have a food allergy and she does not necessarily clean things well after using them. I've already politely asked that she uses her own things as since she has moved in my food allergies have got worse. AIBU to tell her to use her own stuff?!

Not at all!

I had a flatmate like this once....she'd leave dried/caked on grease and food on utensils because she had an aversion to washing up properly.
If yours is taking the piss now imagine what she'll be like further down the road?

I ended up having to padlock my cupboard so she couldn't steal my stuff and having a beer fridge in my room to keep the milk etc so it didn't get used -stolen--

Have a look online for ideas on locked storage containers or ways to do your own so you can still use the communal fridge without anyone pinching your stuff.

what's her response to you pulling her up on it?

I explained that i had food allergies and to please not use my things i'd keep them away from from hers and she said 'not a problem'. Clearly it was Confused

well, she clearly has no respect or consideration for you - stop being polite and tell her straight.

then lock your stuff away so she can't use it.

I had to lock up my stuff with flatmates like this. In one flat I even ended up having to keep my food and toiletries in my room and have a lock on my door, they just didn't understand, 'Please don't use my stuff, eat my food, I cannot afford to replace it.'
