Hi all! Posting here for traffic. I have got a painter starting on Saturday to paint the house. I was going ahead with the combination of shades ,Stiffkey blue and Cooking apple by Farrow and Ball ( mixed by local B&Q for a fraction of the price 😊) But I am not sure whether it's the right combination to go with Confused Please help.

I would have put Oval Room Blue with Cooking Apple. They both look like they have similar opacity and an almost chalky finish.
The Stiffkey (to me) looks to true a colour, too bold. That said, it is still lovely

My favourite combination to go with Cooking Apple would be Lichen

cuckooplusone · 26/09/2017 12:58

Yes, I would accent with a rusty red tone

bridgetreilly · 26/09/2017 13:39

I think they won't work together, sorry.

I'd either try the Cooking Apple with Inchyra Blue or Pale Powder with Stiffkey Blue.

Thank you all for your response.
Bridgetrilley: Thank you for your coded chart.
I am back to square one . Some difficult choices to make Grin

What room is it for? How will the two colours feature?

enceladus · 26/09/2017 19:44

good choice, I think they look really good together - anything less saturated/bright and the whole look starts to look more sober. I think though you have to go with your gut, everyone will differ in opinion on paint colours and of course it also depends as bridgetreilly says, how they will feature?

FindMeIfYouCan · 02/10/2017 17:08

Thank you all for your valuable input.
I finally went ahead with Moles breath on feature wall and Purbeck stone on the rest of the walls. The combination looks lovely.

Sounds great!

StoatofDisarray · 02/10/2017 17:34

There's a paint called Moles Breath? OMG!

SurferRona · 02/10/2017 18:06

I love the fact that an MNuser called bridgetreilly has commented on this thread Grin

FindMeIfYouCan · 02/10/2017 19:38

I know, is so funny the type of names they come up with Grin. Elephant's breath, Dead salmon, Smoked Trout, Mouses back are other names to laugh about 😂😂
