About this sodding virus?!

There is A Virus doing the rounds. DS (1) has had it for two weeks now. Started with snot, progressed to phlegmy cough, NOW 2 weeks in, he's spiking fevers of 39.5/40

Been to OOH GP who confirmed my suspicions- it is indeed, just a virus, with no suspected chest or ear infection.

But DS is miserable. Which means our plan to get him settled into nursery this week ahead of started work next week has gone tits up.

AIBU to think this dastardly virus is a bioplot by Trump/ Putin/ N Korea/ The Illuminati / my exDP to ruin my life? Is anyone else currently suffering these horrors?

YANBU. 3 weeks here, I thought it was going away but it has returned with a vengeance brining along sickness and diarrhoea.

My daughter is a week into this, still coughing etc. Yanbu - it's horrible

DH has had it 3 weeks and I'm just getting over it after nearly 2 weeks - DS is just starting on it...pain in the arse!

Yeah this one is horrible and lasts bloody ages. I'm sorry man. Hope he's on the mend soon.

Oh this must be what we have then. My older one is fighting it off finally but my poor baby is just floored by it.

Typically, given we did the Sunday night dash across town to the gp, DS now sleeping more soundly than he has for 2 weeks. Not coughing. Not flailing in his sleep.

DS is usually indefatigable but he's been very very under the weather/ whingy with this one.

It's vile - my DS has been ill for a week, I r got it but I'm pregnant so can't take anything useful and every time I think it's improving another spike comes along. Grrrrr.

You have my sympathies OP - hope your son gets better soon. We are getting through Vicks like you wouldn't believe.

We've all had this in some shape or form. DD and DS seemed to be fighting it, but succumbed horribly last week and appear to be feeling utterly rotten.

Fingers crossed they feel better soon as it's hard to see them feeling so sorry for themselves.

It does at least explain why settling DS into nursery has been so awful. I thought he was just snotty at first.. and the nursery sorrow was separation anxiety. it's only the last couple of days I've thought of him as "poorly poorly". Poor little poppets been feeling rotten, I guess, and I've been abandoning him to the baby room

DS now has ear infection from bastarding "paraflu" virus.

Gave me the fright of my life this morning when woke up to find him with a temp of 40, shivering and looking a bit mottled/ bluish.

GP has been very thorough but I'm still watching DS with hawk eyes for any hint of something more serious.

Give me strength!

You are U to suggest it is one solitary virus.

There are millions of the little shits floating round infecting people. Ask me how I know.

Yep. DD has it.

Had a cold for about a week. Then it progressed. She literally spent all day sneezing yesterday, I'm wondering if she's broken some sort of record! off school with it as she's also had a jippy tummy and she is just miserable with it. (She's 11!). Text her friends to tell them she won't be in school and they have it too. Poor kids are going down like flies.

DS here is now attached to the boob like a newborn. One year postpartum and engorged again.

Oh yes, DS had the dabs this morning as well. Hope your DD is spending her sick leave doing something comforting- like box sets and honey and lemon!

I've been in hospital for five days with pneumonia after suffering from fever, pain, shivers, temp of 40, confusion and vomiting. GP prescribed antibiotics then a chest xray, when i was immediately admitted and put on drip.

It's been truly awful, but def on the up now. Am usually very healthy and fit with no history.

This is poor DS's second bout of bronchiolitis. At least he's managed to keep his oxygen up this time so no hospital but he's nursing round the clock and barely sleeping at night so I'm shattered.

My dd had this for weeks last December. The doctor recommended pro biotic drinks/yogurts and so far (touch wood) she hasn't been unwell since.
