Have just been looking at some dates to looking at some schools for when my lb starts in Sept.

I have some that when I have looked on their calendar on some of them and they have already had their one and only session?? I will be giving the other schools a ring to see if they will be doing anymore

Surely a lot a of parents would only be looking now to see if there are dates in oct/nov and that schools would do more than session?

I have two schools that we are thinking of and their sessions are on the same day and same time so i would go to one and then DH would go to another and I will have to arrange for my mum and dad to come over and do the bedtime routine

I only have one school in our catchment area, the others are outside as I assume that you have to put more than one school down when applying

I have posted this is the education section for primar schools, but thought I would post in here as well as there seams to be more people around

At my school we don't have specific open days. We encourage people to make an appointment if they want to come and have a look around. Most children come from our own nursery, however, so I suppose we have approximately 1 family per week looking round for nursery or elsewhere in the school.

My DC's school will show you round by appointment. CoE village primary.

My school they have given up on open night as tbh it was like a rugby scrum. Way too many parents, too much prep and tidy up. The head and dept head are doing show rounds in groups during the day. Takes pressure off teaching staff.

Hi I booked in separately to visit each school, I think most schools offer this.

Buffy81 · 24/09/2017 21:45

Thats good to know that some schools you can still book to look around. I would have thought that his nursery would have sent out emails of open dates etc for the schools in the area that we live in as his last one did
