To think all these earthquakes are strange??

Recently there seems to have been a lot of earthquakes (Japan, nz, Mexico). Is it normal to get so many close together in time? (admittedly thousands of miles apart)

Between this and the hurricanes and floods and Trump squaring up to Kim Jong Il it all feels a bit 'end of days' 😬

Global warming.

Caused by the West and mass consumerism.

Nah I think we just hear about it more these days with Internet and 24hour news plus they make more impact because of overpopulation on earth. Hurricanes yes can be attributed to climate change but tectonic plates just shift.

Climate Change may be a factor but there has always been natural disasters.

Earthquakes are not related to global warming. They are caused by geology, and one big one triggers aftershocks.

Everything is connected, so I expect that the earthquakes set each other off. I highly doubt its climate change.

As for the hurricanes some years we get a quiet season, others are more active.

Earthquakes are not caused by global warming!! They are caused by the movement of tectonic plates and are entirely natural. There are several hundred small earthquakes a day, bigger ones a few times a month. Many go unnoticed, for example under the sea or in remote areas. It is so sad when they occur in built up areas :-(

There is a planet on a crash course with earth and the closer it gets, the more the gravitational pull effects the earth. The end certainly is nigh.

There is a lot we still don't understand about earthquakes. It might be that an earthquake on one part of a tectonic plate might alter the stresses on another part triggering apparently unconnected earthquakes.

While we're on the out there theories, what about the HAARP program.

Daily Express are loving it. They've been trying to convince people that "planet x" was coming since 2012. Still waiting....

Natural disasters are related to the accumulation of sins committed in one area. Simple.

Mexico has had 2 large earthquakes recently, & many in the past. This is because it sits on 2 tectonic plates.

Mexico City is built on a dried up lake bed surrounded by rock - it is a city with over a million people in unsafe structures.

There is also a large volcano nearby.

So earthquakes in this region are normal & sadly deadly.

So although it's sad for the people caught up

In Matthew Jesus mentions earthquakes as part of the signs of the end of the world.
And wars and rumours of wars.
But don't worry too much, that's just the beginning of the end of the world, the worst is yet to come...

There have always been natural disasters but a warmer climate means more energy is available to potentially make, for example, Hurricanes get bigger, faster, more damaging.

There are mechanisms by which global warming could possibly trigger more earthquakes, although that sounds odd I know.

Sorry meant to say it's sad for the people caught up in it but hardly shocking.

And Japan is prone to earthquakes, so is Greece and in fact many areas of the world, google earthquakes & educate yourself, then you won't think it's strange at all.
