Who's right?

Me and dh have a collection we keep in alphabetical order as we constantly need to get to one thing or another and it's a lot easier.
My aibu is I think stuff that begins with 'the' should be in the 'T' section as it makes it easier. Dh insists you ignore the 'the' and go for the next word first letter.
Which just seems like a PITA In my opinion. Who's right? How would you file things?

Ignoring "The" is standard in libraries, DVD shops etc so I agree with your DH. Sorry!

If there wasn't a 'rule' though how would people personally file? I can't be the only one that thinks all the 'the's ' in the T section is easier?

We have project names. Like Project Purple. Project Lake. Project Fly,

They are all filed under "P" [face palm]

One of the reasons I chose the music player app I have on my phone is because it orders bands' names correctly (i.e. ignoring "The")
