Impromptu day off - did I spend it well ?

I was given an impromptu day off work today due to someone else's fuck up but hey it's a day off !

DH is expecting an impromptu favourite dinner and me in something sexy.

I managed to beg the car in for a service which was overdue, have walked over 30 thousand steps delivering car / picking up car and doing a full house clean post summer hols, and 4 loads of washing.

I'm feeling rather pleased with myself. House spotless, car legal, dogs exhausted from extra long walks to and from garage.

Just enough time left to have a bath and get my sex goddess on before DH gets home. Which would make me pretty bloody perfect in every way in my DH's eyes.

Or aibu to serve up veggie toad in the hole with my knickers on and carry on like any other working day. I think I have done enough for one day. Smile

No.

And can I have some toad in the hole?

Whatjusthappenedexactly · 19/09/2017 17:43

Ha ha, his texts have started! Am I getting dressed up for him Shock

No, I'm on mumsnet and drinking a well deserved bottleglass of wine.

Aibu to think that even the toad will be lucky to make it into the hole tonight. Grin

You wasted it doing housework and running errands?

You could have gone to the cinema in the afternoon by yourself.

Or had a long lunch.

Or a bubble bath.

Or read a book in cafe with an enormous piece of cake.

You've caught up on everything, and have nothing hanging over you now. Enjoy your wine, get a takeaway and have a relaxing evening.

Oh I wouldn't call that a wasted day at all, it's hugely productive imo. I have a day off coming up soon (an actual mid week day where kids are in school) and I can't wait to just relish being in the house by myself, catch up on all those little niggling jobs and get out for a walk ON MY OWN!!
