Cannot stand the sight of him, much less when he opens his mouth. Even Owen Jones is preferable.

Oh I quite like him, and Owen Jones.

SabineUndine · 14/09/2017 23:40

Can't stand him and his books are rubbish. Owen Jones is ok.

KityGlitr · 14/09/2017 23:40

Owen jones is great. Smart guy.

GrockleBocs · 14/09/2017 23:41

Avoiding QT because of Will Self.

Lovingmybear2 · 14/09/2017 23:43

Cannot bear him. Rent a political gob, stupid and needs to grow up. Any cause going he's there for self publicity.

His books are crap too.

EssentialHummus · 14/09/2017 23:44

Never mind his looks, his books are shite. (Though much hilarity in this house when DH realised that Will Umbrella Self isn't a book title.)

pennysnow · 14/09/2017 23:45

Never heard of him.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 14/09/2017 23:51

I love him! I thought he was the voice of reason on QT. He's so clever and - from the occasions where I've met him - really kind, too.

Lovingmybear2 · 14/09/2017 23:52

Is that you will?

Runaways01 · 14/09/2017 23:57

I haven't read his books and I'm not too familiar on his political views, but I thought he was funny on Shooting Stars and the other bits of TV I've seen him on (HIGNFY, Room 101).

Owen Jones is awful though.

VictoriaMcdade · 14/09/2017 23:57

I saw him once on the tube with his two kids. They were unbelievably badly behaved. He just looked on indulgently.

squoosh · 14/09/2017 23:57

He looks a bit like a Victorian serial killer who has a day job as an undertaker so I can see why some people might find him off-putting, but no way is he was annoying as that twat Owen Jones.

Lovingmybear2 · 15/09/2017 00:03

squoosh Grin he does doesn't he.

MrLovebucket · 15/09/2017 00:13

YANBU

Never liked the obnoxious, self-important cunt.

He looks like the creepy uncle you'd never ask to babysit

Notinmybackyard · 15/09/2017 00:16

Totally confused myself by reading the heading as Will Smith and thinking, "what on earth is he doing on QT?" 😳

PoorYorick · 15/09/2017 00:25

He's one of those people who, while clever, really isn't as clever as he thinks he is. Stephen Fry is another.

GrockleBocs · 15/09/2017 00:31

Yorick my ex too. I think that's what sets me on edge. Yes he's Arts clever. But not a genius. And Arts clever doesn't really matter. He's a commentator.

redemptionsongs · 15/09/2017 00:42

i like long words, and clever language, but he takes it too far until it's simply headache-y to listen to, rather than elegant.

StatelessPrincess · 15/09/2017 00:56

He is a bit sinister looking but he cant help that. Agree that he's not quite as clever as he thinks he is and I really don't like his books either.

Well put, but it's actually more than that...something to do with the personality he projects but I can't quite out my finger on it. Whereas Jones is just a self-important oik. He's like a mosquito that refuses to buzz off.

Love Self (and his books).

Despise Fry. Abhor Owen Jones.

Celticlassie · 15/09/2017 05:52

If posters were fixated on, and judging a woman for her looks they'd get short shrift. Why is it ok to do it to a man? He can't help his appearance.

peachgreen · 15/09/2017 07:44

I met him. He was incredibly kind and fiercely feminist. Went out of his way to encourage me and make me feel really good about myself. Lovely, lovely man.

CalmanOnSpeeddial · 15/09/2017 07:49

I really like his journalism and he seems like a good bloke. The Shooting Stars connection will always make me positively inclined to him.

He lives near me and we bumped into them at school open days etc - no behaviour stories either way through I'm afraid.
