My daughter (9) was involved in an incident where a boy kicked her in the face.
She was sat chatting on the grass at lunchtime with her friend when out of nowhere a foot landed square on her face. it's unclear whether this was an accident or not.....my daughter didn't see it coming and was crying afterwards.
The dinner lady on duty sent her to the office where she was given an ice pack. There was no incident note sent home. The teacher didn't come over abd explain what had happened and it wasn't until we got home that I realised something was wrong.

dd is in quite a lot of pain with it, her lip is really bruised and swollen. she bit her tongue when it happened and her face is naturally quite swollen.....I'm expecting a rather large bruise by morning.

I'm most upset that the boy in question who kicked her wasn't pulled up for it and she didn't even receive an apology. Accident or not I think he should have said sorry to her. it's really upset her.

Your poor DD. I hope she's OK

You don't know the boy wasn't pulled up for it though.

dd said boy ran off after the incident and that the dinner lady wasn't terribly bothered.
for dd to cry it must have really hurt. She's a real tough cookie and also doesn't like people at school to see her cry.
I just think the boy should have apologised. I get that accidents happen but good manners cost nothing and it's important for the boy to understand that he hurt someone. she's in bed with me......has only just dropped off and keeps wimpering in her sleep even after paracetamol :-(
