To question the school about this

My son started reception this week and after school today my husband was asked to speak with the teacher. The teacher explained that my son had not been well behaved today and pinched another child.

We have spoken to my son and explained this not acceptable behaviour. The teacher made this seem like this was all rather one sided and the other child was at no fault. The other child's parents were not spoken to ( we know them). However when I gave my son his bath tonight he has fresh bruises all over one arm.

If I question the school how he got these bruises I am worried that it will look like I am making excuses for his behaviour and I don't want to come across as a difficult parent but at the same time I am concerned at how he has got this bruising. Aibu?

What does your son say about the bruises?

I would ask your son about the bruises and then have a chat with the teacher. Sounds like they have only seen half the situation

I would mention it to the teacher in the morning, but say what you've said here ie I'm not making excuses but wanted you to be aware type of approach

Definitely make the school aware, it seems like all they have seen is your sons reaction. What does he say happened?
If there is someone in particular that has been hurting him the teachers need to be aware so they can keep an eye xx

I think you should chat to your son first about bruises as they may be completely unrelated.
I think if he says they came from other child, I'd let the teacher know as a bit of a FYI, I wouldn't go in all guns blazing though
