To leave paint on cat

My bloody "problem child" cat went frolicking around in my paints (acrylics) and now has a gorgeous magenta splodge on his cheek and whiskers.
Photo attached, its very small. Should I just leave it? Or attempt to clean it off? If so how??

I don't know much about paint but if it's harmful if ingested then yes I would try to clean it. If not, just leave it, like some rather fetching blusher.

😂 Sorry, I have nothing helpful to add.

DanHumphreyIsA · 12/09/2017 10:26

😂
You can buy cat wipes from Pets at Home, I'm pretty sure I've seen them in places like B&M aswell. I'm not sure if they'd be strong enough on paint but worth a go.

😂😂😂😂 it wasn't him.

Yes, you need to clean it off. It will be harmful if ingested and he will obviously clean it himself. Idiot cat :)

My two ran across a recently painted step a few weeks ago - we had to wrangle both of them to clean their paws. Thankfully it was water-based paint so washed off fairly easily, but they were furious and we were both covered in scratches.

Ikabod · 12/09/2017 10:41

My mum's cat fell in a thing of white wash (no idea how). My Dad cleaned it off. That's how they met.

Seriously though, if you can't brush it out and it's only a teeny amount, I think he'll be fine Smile

5rivers7hills · 12/09/2017 10:46

I'd try and wipe it off with a damp cloth or brush it out but it's only a little bit.

My stupid cat somehow stepped in paint and left white foot prints all over the house and he really didn't enjoy being wrapped Ina. Towed and his paws washed!

My cat once had fun with some black house paint. Looked great on a cream carpet 🤔 He was locked in the bathroom with me and had a good old scrub up, much to his disgust.

Ollivander84 · 12/09/2017 10:57

Mine was sporting a stripe of "chic shadow". It came off with some water wipes
Also problem child as he attempted to get out of going to the vets by throwing up all over me, the car, his crate and himself. And then the vet Blush
He was incredibly cross when the vet dunked him and returned him to me sat on a puppy pad Grin

Check the manufacturer's website for a material safety data sheet. This will tell you if it's harmful to humans. The toxicity is likely to be no different in cats.

splendidisolation · 12/09/2017 11:11

My cat eats absolutely fucking everything, plastics being his favourite, massive problem child. On the plus side, he means my house needs to be a lot tidier...

BoobleMcB · 12/09/2017 11:44

please post a recording of above suggested removal
