To not want dh to call me a SELFISH **** when I wanted to watch the end of Life On Sodding Mars?????

I think not

I watch 2 lots of tv each week: LOM and Ugly Betty

Could live without all the rest, all I ask is 2, TWO, measly hours. He watches football and other boring stuff whenever but it doesn't bother me as I am not interested.

AND I even fob off Ugly Betty on E4 and watch the delayed one on Friday if footy is on.

Anyway, dd2, our pain in the arse sleeper, woke up at 9.50pm last night. Oh no, says I, your turn, I am watching this

ok, off he goes but she doesn't want him, she wants MUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and gets louder and louder.

I remain downstairs and turn the sound up and finish the programme.

And when I go up he has a big strop saying "didn't you hear her you selfish , she was hysterical????!!!!"

Which she was not, and went to sleep after 1 min of my no nonsense getinyourcotrightnowandgotosleep method

I had a huge go at him and went to bed cross. He has sent me a text apologising and will be full of regret but I am still annoyed.

Rant over.

He has phoned again and made a grovelling apology so is now forgiven.

Shall I tell him he can't watch United tonight as I want to watch How Fat Is Your Arse Home Makever Relocation?

That would be a no. Utterly not. Not at all whatsoever, and he owes you BIG TIME.

I recorded as was out drinking wine and eating pizza with Mrs Schadenfreude.

oliveoil · 04/04/2007 13:22

He does owe me big time doesn't he?

He is normally quite reasonable so no idea what came over him. He, I quote him here, "behaved like a complete knob, arsehole and twat"

I predict a nice dinner with wine.

Good for you to stick to your guns and carry on watching LOM.

scatterbrain · 04/04/2007 13:25

Oh not at all unreasonable !!

I had to miss it because dh insisted on taking me out for dinner on my birthday - I would rather have had a Chinese and watched LOM !!! AND - today I have an aching tummy as food too rich at posh restaurant - AND bill was over £200 AND our video is knacked so didn't work to record LOM !!!! Grrrrrrr!!

oliveoil · 04/04/2007 13:25

is it repeated?

it ends next week you know

OP posts:
TinyGang · 04/04/2007 13:26

Miss Life on Mars? Or worse - the last 10 minutes??

We both love LOM - if any of ours wanted something in that hour, they'd be in for a bit of a wait

motherinferior · 04/04/2007 13:27

I would hang out for chocolate. Plus a night out on your own on a day of your choosing. Go for the max, I'd say.

oliveoil · 04/04/2007 13:27

and iirc, the little sod did the same thing in the first series!

OP posts:
scatterbrain · 04/04/2007 13:27

Can't find any repeats anywhere !!! Yes I know - next week is the last one !!! At least I didn't miss the last one I suppose (she said grudgingly !)

princessmelTingChoccyEggs · 04/04/2007 13:31

HOW OLD IS SHE oo??

oPPS got caps lock wrong!!

oliveoil · 04/04/2007 13:33

90% devil, 10% angel

OO, I did a piece on sleep And So On for a baby mag recently - there might be the odd helpful bit in it, email me if you want a copy.

CloudCuckooLand · 04/04/2007 13:34

it's repeated on bbc3 or 4 next week (this week's episode)

get sky+ olive or TV that you can pause (doesn't have to be sky+, I think some of the newer freeview type boxes do it too)

oliveoil · 04/04/2007 13:35

she is getting better actually, once in the evening she wakes and is in our bed maybe 3 times a week, ahem, but if she sleeps I am not bothered

I can't listen to her cry

and I tell myself that she is the last one so it is the last time for this nonsense etc

Totally and completely reasonable. Glad he apologised. When Life on Mars is on I:

(a) do not speak to anyone, including DH

(b) do not answer the door or phone and

(c)indulge in dirty fantasies about Philip Glenister... (oh sorry, TMI, not sure how that one made it to my list).

lemonaid · 04/04/2007 18:15

scatterbrain -- we recorded it and IF I can work out the relevant technology I think I could burn it to DVD. If you're interested, CAT me...

Sky+ is a big swizz if you live in a flat with communal Sky, though. And you can't get Sky HD (which DH wanted for HD sport) without getting, and paying for, Sky+. Even though it makes your overall service worse than before...

scatterbrain · 04/04/2007 22:32

Oh lemonaid - you are a star !!!!!

Thank you !!! I will CAT you right now !!!
