Every Cup Matters

I've just seen a poster in Starbucks saying 'Every Cup Matters', it's really bothered me!
I feel like it's taking the piss a bit and just a bit tacky to be honest.

Taking the piss out of what? Is it trying to encourage people to be eco friendly?

WomanEmpire · 11/09/2017 13:05

Black Lives Matter and Every Child Matters.
No it's about how good their drinks are, every single time.

OP YANBU - I think it would bother me too. I think they could've rephrased it, as it comes across as a bit flippant.

Alexkate2468 · 11/09/2017 13:08

Is it not just a way of them saying they take customer satisfaction seriously and want to get your coffee right? It's not a poster that would bother me tbh.

HelloPossums · 11/09/2017 13:09

Especially as it refers to how good their drinks are, which I just realised after reading your post. I assumed, like Mrs, that it would be something to do with their recycling and environment efforts.

WomanEmpire · 11/09/2017 13:16

It's stylised like this:

EVERY
CUP
MATTERS

Which is pretty bloody similar to the Black Lives Matter posters.

Ah, ok - I hadn't really linked it to the Black lives matter campaign.

WhereDidThatTurtleComeFrom · 11/09/2017 13:36

I thought you meant it took the piss as they were personally filming landfills with cups of their shitty syrup coffees.

But yes, if they've styled it after black lives matter I expect them to have their asses handed to them like Pepsi and Thibgy Mabib Jenner did.

sharksDen · 11/09/2017 14:02

Do they riot after giving you your coffee?

SerfTerf · 11/09/2017 14:04

YANBU. Like Kendall Jenner's Pepsi as.

SerfTerf · 11/09/2017 14:05

Ad^

WhereDidThatTurtleComeFrom · 11/09/2017 14:07

Do they riot after giving you your coffee?

Did anyone shoot at them before giving her her coffee?

sharksDen · 11/09/2017 14:10

I doubt there was any shooting. Why would there be? What did I miss?

MrsOverTheRoad · 11/09/2017 14:10

Sharks what the fuck!?? What kind of thing is that to say!

OP YANBU. I think you and everyone who reads this should complain!

MrsOverTheRoad · 11/09/2017 14:13

A quick google tells me that last year there were some complaints made because a barista refused to write Black Lives Matter on a customer's cup.

In response, a lot of Baristas began writing it for customers who asked.

I just found this in relation to what you noticed

At Starbucks Every Cup Matters to us, it is about the way we handcraft every single beverage, the passion that goes in to everything we do

Which is a fucking cheap way for them to reference the BLM thing isn't it?

Ttbb · 11/09/2017 14:43

I live in the U.K. So the BLM connection didn't even cross my mind. And I have no idea what every child matters is. They probably didn't have either in mind. Just seems like every day advertising. YABU

SerfTerf · 11/09/2017 14:45

BLM is also a campaign/slogan in the U.K.

WomanEmpire · 11/09/2017 15:08

Ttb look up Victoria Climbié and then you might remember what Every Child Matters is.
Being in the UK is a shocking excuse.

WomanEmpire · 11/09/2017 15:11

sharksden I really hope you're not saying what I think you're saying!

WhereDidThatTurtleComeFrom · 11/09/2017 15:12

Starbucks isn't British

SerfTerf · 11/09/2017 15:14

What's that for ro so with anything Turtle? It has a huge trading presence in the U.K.

Are you roaming the boards being illogically querulous on every thread? Confused

SerfTerf · 11/09/2017 15:14

got to do with^

Seniorcitizen1 · 11/09/2017 15:15

don't go in - I have never used these places as they rip you off with their prices and don't pay their fair share of tax

WomanEmpire · 11/09/2017 16:05

senior me neither! It was at a service station.
